Good collection of wine and nice cosy restaurant

I find this gem as I was looking for a nice wine bar near my hotel. They have a good selection of wine by the glass and a simple but nice looking menu. I have the sea bass and crab risotto. The wait staff is very friendly despite they are busy. I will go there any time versus a pub... read more

We stopped in for a light dinner and we're not disappointed. Not only is this a wine bar, but the back room is a restaurant that serves lovely food. We enjoyed a bowl of lovely pea, mint and watercress soup, followed by Iberico ham, sliced thin and venison carpaccio. It was a perfect assortment for a light dinner. And the... More

A business colleague and friend picked this place, which I did not know. Beware: it is not an easy area to find a parking spot. The interior, and staff, is welcoming. I always like a bit of a booth. I think this was some of the best meat I have had in the UK! And the extensive wine-by-the-glass menu added... More

The evening didn't start too happily as the restaurant denied we had a booking but then their friendly side took over and we were immediately accommodated. The wine rooms consist of a place to buy and drink wine at the front and a warmly decorated restaurant behind. Pleasant colours and mainly candle lit with only occasional soft jazz playing in... Myself and my friend made a last minute reservation late on a Friday evening, where the staff happily accommodated us (right up to 15 minutes past closing after we stumbled out after a bottle or two of red...). The food was fantastic, the atmosphere comforting, décor was sharp and staff were on the ball.

Very nice wine bar with large choice of wine by glass thanks to Enomatic machines with delicious tapas in the evening. On Sunday much calmer, with very good brunch and especially perfectly prepared egg Benedict/Florentin. Definitely worth a visit either for evening drink or Sunday brunch"

We visited the Kensington Wine Rooms for the first time last Saturday for lunch. The day was very cold and grey. Once inside the Wine rooms our whole day changed. We were met with a very warm welcome, the waiter even offered me a glass of hot water to warm my hands. How good is that. The food is very... More

Now that I live in the neighborhood, I am starting to review various nearby restaurants that I frequent. This place has some significant positives: 1. Nice way to sample a broad selection of wines 2. Good food (not breakthrough, but solid) 3. Good atmosphere My main negatives: 1. They put singles onto tiny uncomfortable high-tops; maybe a reservation would help?... More

Dear Shantap Thank you for your feedback. It makes us really happy to hear you enjoyed the wine and food selection as well as the atmosphere. I was at pains to read your bad experience with one of the team, though. Our aim is to welcome our guests here like we would friends into our own home and Im sorry... More

Enomatic machines let you try just a bit (or not) of several wines for a fair price. The collection os not huge, but it interesting enough. Atmosphere and service are nice.

Staying nearby and The Wine Rooms was recommended for a midweek business dinner. Faultless service, food and wine. Had Calamari, steak and strudel. Sounds safe and almost boring but each dish was perfectly cooked and presented. Also, prices are quire reasonable for the quality and standard. Would highly recommend for a casual business dinner or with friends. On a midweek... More
