Great wine by the glass

Spent a very unhurried enjoyable afternoon in here sampling some fantastic wines. Lovely environment, friendly staff, good food and the concept of putting a balance on a top up card and then helping yourself was novel but enjoyable, be warned there is such a massive range of good wine that... read more

Walked in on a Saturday evening without a reservation and didn't have to wait long for a table. Service was very efficient with no shortage of table water on offer. I enjoyed the Onglet steak which was cooked to perfection. My wife had the sea bream crab risotto, which was delicious. We shared the Eaton mess for dessert. The menu... More

Yes the wine selection is quite good. The food menu has a great variety of choice, but the quality of the duck that I ordered was not the best. After listening to the same track for half an hour, we had to ask the waiter to change the music... and finally, such a classy place with nice atmosphere should take... More

it used to be one of my preferred places in London for an evening drink or a dinner with friends. However recently evolution goes totally wrong way - the selection of wines becomes random and less attractive than before while the prices have followed usual London inflation. More importantly, the food is getting dangerously close to a poor kebab place... More

Dear Scipion-Paris Thank you for your feedback and previous good Trip Advisor review. It saddens me that you found our food anything less than perfect on this occasion, I will be looking into all of the points you raise. At the same time I am surprised as we have had only excellent comments on the service, the menu, the quality... More

Great service friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. The vegetarian option on the menu of gnocchi was delicious . We stayed at the table long after we were finished our meal and the staff were happy for us to be there , no pressure to vacate the table .Great that wine is by the glass so you could have a different one... We picked this resturant to meet old friends after a 20 year break. We could not have made a better choice. The food, wine and staff were equally excellent. The bill didn't break the bank, we had a great time what more could you want. The vibe is smart wine bar with resturant it's not too posh but definitely not... More

We were looking for a quick-ish lunch before heading onto a wedding, and we fancied a nice glass of wine to accompany. This is the place. Great corner table and some really good lunchtime food. The service fairly slow, but otherwise excellent.

Dinner with friends, first time for all of us. Menu offered plenty for our palates - entrees of Grilled Calamari, Soft shell crab, Foie Gras. Mains of Duck, Lamb, Chateaubriand. These dishes were all well executed - not over cooked, all succulent, good flavours and combinations. The only downside on the food, maybe the dishes were a tad small given... More

Very pleased to discover this excellent eatery only 15 mins walk from Opera Holland Park (but make sure you have a map to distinguish the cut throughs from the cul de sacs en route) for a terrific pre-performance supper. This is primarily a wine bar but the food is very good indeed and each dish has a recommended wine alongside... More

We stopped in for a light dinner and we're not disappointed. Not only is this a wine bar, but the back room is a restaurant that serves lovely food. We enjoyed a bowl of lovely pea, mint and watercress soup, followed by Iberico ham, sliced thin and venison carpaccio. It was a perfect assortment for a light dinner. And the... More
