We only had starters here and as they were so disappointing we passed on the overpriced mains. I so wanted to love this restaurant, and ignored the canteen-style surroundings and visible prep area. But at the end of the day the quality, flavour, and quantity of what we had was not good, and there are much better malaysian restaurants in... More

If you're going for lunch don't expect too much - it's a £5.95 buffet similar to the ones you find in Chinatown, but a different style of food. Service was fine, very nice people, just don't expect a fancy meal if you're going for lunch. For the money though it was excellent, just wouldn't spend >£15 each there.

Found 54 Penang on Trip Advisor. Such a helpful, caring waitress who guided us through the menu. We ordered exactly the right amount of delicious food - the Malaysian

Me and my girlfriend had a lovely valentines meal with 54 Pinang. The staff were excellent and this was more than matched by the quality of the food! The place had a really nice feel to it, small and done out in all red decor. I think the underground must go directly beneath the restaurant, the noise isn't annoying at... More

Just back from a very pleasant meal. On business and was alone, but made very welcome from attentive staff. Food was excellent - I had the tasting menu. Ambiance perfect - just a simple but effective combination of lighting, space, privacy and music. Will return with my wife on next visit to London.

I visited with my son midweek whilst in London. Pinang had good write ups and was close to where he lives. It was a quiet evening and the staff were welcoming settling us down and getting drinks. The waitress politely inquired whether we had been before and then took us through options and recommendations. We selected one tasting menu and... More

I went there for a family celebration. We had mixed age group and children. The table had been decorated, which made it more special,as we had not asked for this.

A local restaurant which is a worth a journey. Excellent Malaysian cuisine in a friendly atmosphere, much more intimate than the exterior might suggest and with the theatre of the food preparation to entertain you.
