Visited for lunch three times in the last fortnight. It has been first class on all occasions, from entering through the anonymous balk door on Romilly stree, the welcome and service, the ambience of the dining room, the super de luxe lunch, the little extras and the knowledge of the staff and especially the sommelier. This restaurant in the heart of Soho has charm and sophistication. The luncheon menu range was very good and there is also a tasting menu to work your way though. You can rely on your hosts to perfectly match the food with an appropriate wine by the glass. Good value for money and a nice atmosphere in which to take... More

I booked a table at Gauthier for my partner's birthday, and we both decided to try the lunch taster menu. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. I particularly enjoyed the scallop with artichoke and chutney, yum!! The scallops were cooked to perfection and probably the best I've had. One of the courses was a risotto with black... More

Bought for me as a birthday treat, I felt very special and pampered from the moment the front door was opened. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even though I had arrived very early and had to wait for my friends to arrive. We had the £40 de luxe lunch menu which was delicious, with enough choice to... More

The food here is consistently of a high standard and the set lunch with wines is outstanding value . Today's visit was let down by some disappointing service aspects, but a conversation with an apologetic Alexis Gauthier who visited our table at the end of the meal did much to reassure us. I like this restaurant having visited it numerous... More

My husband brought me here as a late birthday treat, we chose the lunch set menu. By far the best meal I have had in a long time, maybe the best meal of my life. I felt I was treated like royalty by the staff and the wine chosen for me was like drinking silk. Each course was perfectly balanced... More

The food here is delightful. We had the Deluxe Lunch menu of 3 courses. The prawn and saffron risotto was really flavoursome, the pork fillet main was cooked to perfection and the chocolate tart dessert was rich and delicious. Would definitely recommend!

The food itself is amazing and I thought it was truly something special. The restaurant itself is very well decorated and the staff were very good as well. Fabulous experience all round.

This is my second visit & long overdue as the last visit was over two years ago. A belated xmas present to my partner for a 3 course lunch here. The location is in the heart of Soho in an elegant town house with a feel of warm & elegant ambiance as if you just walk into a friend’s home,... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
