There are so many good restaurants but few to which we return

time and again. This is one of the few that is consistently excellent in all respects - delightful surroundings, inventive and interesting menu, a wine-list that is not terrifying in its pricing and charming service. What is there not to like especially the bargain (and long may it continue), lunch... read more

set in a beautiful house. Rooms very intimate. Food amazing & great service. Evenings are more pricey, BUT if you take advantage of the lunch time set menu it becomes an affordable luxury. We were there 1pm until 4pm had great food, drink & service, highly recommend

We choose the tasting menu and my dining partner also took the sommelier chosen wine. The latter was a great decision - the wine choices were incredible and for each the sommelier would explain the wine which added to the whole experience. Food is incredible. I really don't know what else to say - it looked beautiful, it tasted incredible.... More

The loss of foie gras from the menu has not distracted from the wide range of skilfully cooked, brilliantly presented and seasonally based dishes. The black truffle risotto, enriched with aged Parmesan and roasting juices, is superb. The value for money is outstanding both at lunch and dinner. One option at lunch is a five course tasting menu, including a... More

Visted Gauthier for lunch with a friend one Friday and we had the 2 tasting menus - it was absolutely incredible. The food was simply amazing and the service was excellent. This is definitely in my top 5 restaurants in London. Be prepared to be indulged and enjoy!

My boyfriend and I were here for dinner last night (Wednesday 20 May), it was incredible, the service was faultless and most importantly friendly. All the waiters were quick to smile and laugh with you, all were knowledgeable and happy to help. We had the tasting menu with the wine flight, the food was really good. I would happily come... Four of us visited Gauthier on May 9th. Two of us chose the de-luxe lunch menu which includes a glass of champagne and two glasses of wine, each chosen to complement the menu. The canapés, amuse bouche and the three courses were excellent. Coffee and petit-fours are also included. Amazing value for such a good restaurant and the location is... More

We had to book this restaurant several weeks in advance to get in for a Saturday lunch, and once we;d been, we realised why. The service and the food were excellent and we are looking forward to returning with friends very soon - would highly recommend as one of, if not, the best, restaurants we have ever been to in... I recently went to Gauthier Soho for a celebratory lunch and I was very pleased with the atmosphere, quality of service and food. Gauthier has a lovely intimate feel to it. The restaurant is almost hidden from view and the door bell has to be rung in order to be admitted. I ate on the ground floor dining area and... More

Even though it has been said 469 times, I feel compelled to iterate for the 470th time that lunch at Gauthier is a fabulous experience, starting with the amazing quality/prize of the "DeLuxe" version (you will pay more money just for the champagne/wines in many London restaurants). As an aside, the restaurant has an first-rate wine list and, importantly, a... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
