My wife and I have lunched at the restaurant on several occasions and went again earlier this week. Food and service have always been excellent and matching wines are well chosen. The only surprise is that it does not get better recognition.

An intimate Soho townhouse is the setting for a delightful experience at a recent post Christmas lunch. Staff are immaculately trained , the food is exquisite and although the portions are tiny for the set lunch, overall value is good. Rich flavours abound and I would like to return for the a la carte interesting options . Only quibble was... More

Visited Gauthier on Saturday 10th January with my partner for lunch. We had the lunch tasting menu ...... Absolutely first class! Foie gras, scallop, sea bass, venison and soufflé with champagne, a glass of white and a glass of red, coffee and petit fours. Exceptional cooking of high quality ingredients, faultless service neither too attentive or too laid back, just... More

A special treat from my daughter who has recently become a solicitor. 5 of us were in the "hidden" room and it was like eating in your own dining room but with everything done for you. Food was exceptional (we had the tasting menu). Venison, bass and foie gras were particularly good. House champagne was good value and there is... More

After our last amazing visit a little under a year ago for my birthday, my husband and I chose Gauthier immediately when a foodie friend asked to take us out to celebrate his new job. I have to say that though the food is still delicious, we were a bit disappointed with the experience this time around. Our first visit... More

We went here for lunch before going to see 'Once the Musical'. It's in a brilliant location, within walking distance of lots of theatres. We both decided to have the set lunch menu and I had the three courses with two glasses of wine for £33 which was excellent value. You have to ring the doorbell to enter the restaurant... More

I went to Gauthier Soho on 20th December for my boyfriends birthday, having done some research, as wanted somewhere special with a tasting menu and matching wines. All reviews were very positive so went ahead and booked 5 weeks in advance. The entrance was a bit cold with staff saying that the table wasn't ready, didn't smile, asked us to... More

After reading all the rave reviews about this restaurant, we had a completely different experience. There was nothing subtle about the chef's use of herbs and spices. And, everything had way too much salt. The scallop appetizer would have been delicious, had way too much salt not fought with the taste of the scallops. The same was true of the... More

My son booked a table for 4 on New Year's Eve as the restaurant was recommended by his friend. However the day before someone from the restaurant called informing us that they would only have a fixed menu and it would cost £95 per person. We were really looking forward to a pleasant family meal but were forced to cancel... More
