Fab on a warm summers evening

Over looking the canal, well at least I was (!), on a rare beautiful summers evening. There are blankets on your chairs if you get cold which of course it did. There were heaters but they were not put on. Food was excellent, cocktails great. We were a table of six and it was so nice to sit on a... read more

6 people for dinner on a Saturday night. Be sure to book because it is a very popular place overlooking the Regent Canal. Food was fantastic - have the pan fried sea bass if it's on the menu! Not cheap, but excellent value for money.

My first visit to the Summerhouse and although we had some heavy rain showers during the time we were there we had a great time. The setting is really cool and with the barges going up and down the scenery ever changing, The clam chowder was excellent and the sea bass for two was a nice a piece a fish... More

We were booked for 4pm with last orders at 4.15pm, looking forward to a late lunch after a lovely 10 mile walk along the Grand Union canal from Limehouse. Stopped for an excellent Hendricks G&T at the Grain Store behind Kings X, and ended up arriving late at 4.30pm at the Summerhouse. The manager said no problem, and we obliged... More

Summerhouse was a revelation. Beautiful situation and really good food. On the canal was lovely but staff tried to be rid of us because they had extra sitting which detracted from experience. I would still recommend this restaurant but be prepared for really quick service later in the day.

I have to say I agree 100% with re review below. No matter how lovely the location is, nothing makes up for treating customers with contempt. We just experienced the same disrespectful behaviour from the manager/ host, an older tall man, who seemed to get a kick of treating us badly, because they already have too many other reservations. This... More

Pleasantly surprised with the meal here. Chosen last minute for dinner. A very good location, attentive staff and good selection on the menu. A great place to enjoy good food and good company. Looking forward to a second visit.

Do yourself a favour and order the lobster - delicious. Lovely service, great atmosphere and all three of us enjoyed gorgeous food. Will be back again.

great ambiance in a fun location. Can't be many places better for lunch on a sunny English summer day in central London. Friendly and cheerful for sure with a view of the busy canal. Where for me it came up short was the value for money. And why is it so many places have trouble with simple chips. I am... More
