Fabulous atmosphere, friendly and responsive service....and the food is excellent. My fiancee and I are addicted to the cream chicken, which we enjoy with their fries cooked to crunchy, golden brown perfection and one of their amazing reds from their wonderful wine list. On Saturday nights, there is the added bonus of live music, which is loud enough to add... More

Really excellent restaurant, one of the best meals in a long time. 2 couples and a couple of kids in total and we all really loved the food and drink, including the kids. I am familiar with Ecuadorian food so tried the Ceviche for Starters - really nice; all the food was great. A little pricey, but I don't mind... More

Had another lovely meal here last night with my partner, my son and his partner. Lovely food in a perfect setting. Maybe a bit pricey but OK for a special occasion.

After our last visit to The Hill I said we shouldn't go again. But ... It is quite hard to get table at short notice on a Saturday evening in Greenwich and so The Hill got its second chance. This time the service was polite and timely, we even had the feeling that there were too many waiting staff ready... More

We booked this restaurant to celebrate by birthday last weekend. There was 11 of us and we were catered for very well. The choice of food was good and we had the opportunity to try some different foods we had not tried before, eg Heart of Palm and octopus. The restaurant was cosy and inviting, and live guitar music played... More

I am a huge fan of this restaurant and have returned many times, from nearby hither green. Very fresh, filling and very tasty! Complimentary warm garlic bread and olives upon arrival is a classy touch, which sets this restaurant aside.

The Hill is one of our regular haunts as we live in Geeenwich. It's a little gem and far superior to any of the other offerings in the area or Blackheath. The food is absolutely delicious- flavoursome and varied. If you fancy one of the starters as a main, the staff are more than happy to oblige. My personal favourites... More

We ate here with family and had an excellent evening, well looked after by super staff who really knew what they were doing & understood the menu. Good value with the kind of welcome you rarely get in bigger restaurants.

Three of us had dinner in this little gem tucked away in a residential area of Greenwich. The three of us each had something different (fish, pasta, pizza) and it was all wonderful and reasonably priced. They have a live guitarist and the ambiance of a local house was very warm and relaxing. We were all full but split a... More

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
