With being a busy touristy area, many of the eateries in Greenwich are simply not very good. There are the obvious chains and a number of gastro-pubs, but nothing that actually captures one's fancy and they mostly tend to the expensive side. After doing some checking, The Hill kept catching my eye, so we gave it a try. This is... More

Me and my boyfriend decided to have a lazy Sunday and ordered pizza and garlic bread. We were told there would be a half hour wait for collection (fine) but we happened to arrive about ten minutes early and would have been happy to wait. I actually thought we might have a v quick drink at the bar first. The... More

Iberico ham was to die for and the pasta was bang on - great meal - no complaints!! Real local gem. Rioja was smooth and velvety - great value by the glass

Just come back from eating at THE HILL, in Royal Hill Greenwich, The atmosphere was very quiet, staff were nice, our starters were good, the cocktail good, wine good. Our mains arrived, we ordered the paella. My wife told me the mussels were gone off, I tasted one and 100% they were gone off. When we went to pay we... More

The Hill is a neighbourhood restaurant that offers good quality, freshly cooked Mediterranean food in a pleasant, simple room some distance off the main Greenwich drag. Cuisine is a mix of Spanish, Italian and South American, all executed with a degree of authenticity. The specials are quite adventurous. To start, I had a hefty octopus tentacle charred from the grill,... More

Having lived in Greenwich for over 5 years I had always heard numerous good reports about The Hill but it was only recently that we decided to give it a go for a birthday meal. I can honestly say this has now become one of my favourite restaurants that I know I will visit time and time again. By far... More

Nice, well cooked, tasty food on a Saturday night in Greenwich. Had the prawn ceviche to start, then the Paella for main. Was a pleasant setting and wine was nice too. The service was ok, nothing to comment on really. The churros for desert were delicious :) I would probably go again but not in a rush - I thought... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
