Description: Renowned throughout London and beyond, Petrus is one of the biggest names...
Renowned throughout London and beyond, Petrus is one of the biggest names on the restaurant scene. With the world-renowned Gordon Ramsay behind the scheme to raise Petrus - now located on Knightsbridge's Kinnerton Street - from the ashes, the restaurant exudes the famous Ramsay sense of luxury combined with down-to-earth charm. Decorated in subtle tones of champagne, oyster and copper along with the claret red which inspired the restaurant's name, Petrus's beguiling interior is superbly decadent and romantic and actually quite intimate. In the kitchen, Head Chef Sean Burbidge is creating its trademark modern French menu. At Petrus the highest-quality ingredients go into dishes that combine delicious familiar flavours with unique presentation. Expect waves of divine amuse-bouches and a stupendous wine list, including a long list of vintages of Petrus to make it all perfect.

Was taken here by my wife for my 50th birthday and it was very good. The menu choice is varied with an a la carte option, a fixed price lunch menu and 7 course tasting menu. We opted for the a la carte and there were some great choices although at £95 for 3 courses it's not cheap. I had... More

My husband and I had dinner on Saturday night and opted for the 3 course a la carte menu. Whilst the descriptions sounded great, the food itself didn't deliver in terms of flavour, in fact my scallops were slightly overdone and the lobster (which carried a £15 supplement) was very disappointing. The only flavour in that dish came from the... More

I visited here with my partner over Easter and we tried one of the tasting menus. Some of the courses were wonderful but some were not hugely impressive. The desserts were show stoppers - I loved the lemon meringue and another chocolate dish, however I was expecting more from the salmon and pork which were good but not great. I... More

The service was good, but the food was just mediocre. Nothing to write home about. The wine list was extensive, but a bit steep.

The restaurant itself is modern, tasteful and stylish but not very welcoming. Each table has numerous members of staff assigned to it which ensures efficiency but means that you do not feel that you receive personal service. So overall you get fussed over but never feel fully comfortable or relaxed. The food is excellent and interesting but some how not... More

We had dreamed of this lunch for years and finally we succeeded in enjoying it. Everything was absolutely perfect and the food was heavenly excellent! The staff is nice, careful and the place is quiet and elegant. The dishes are beautiful at sight and excellent at taste. Never eaten anything so gorgeous. We feared the food quantity would have been... More

I was pleasantly surprised a couple of weeks back when I visited Petrus for dinner. We ordered the tasting menu and were delighted with the meal. I understood the Head Chef changed and I think this is a chef to watch. Very well structured menu with very different array of flavours and ingredients between dishes. To finish with the lightest... Visited Petrus twice and enjoyed both times! Found staff to be attentive and not pushy, atmosphere was quiet however me and my husband still felt we could be ourselves (even if that was to be a bit louder than other diners), food is very tasty and beautifully presented and the small portions are offset by the number of small tasters... was expecting good things, left disappointed, nothing that special stood out, big rep but didnt really deliver. Portion sizes small and I am not expecting huge portions of anything, but come on, taste combos and food fine, couldnt say I left blown away or anywhere close. Service also wasnt quite up to the mark of other similar places I dont... More

Staying in Belgravia

Neighborhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
