Surprisingly good local restaurant

I must admit I was a bit doubtful thinking the place looked like an Anglicized Italian. A very pleasant surprise to find excellent food, the pasta was fresh and tasty, great appetizers, good desserts, worth a return visit indeed!

Fell upon Casa Becci on the way back to the tube to go home. Decided it would be too late to eat when home so went in, luckily a table available for a Friday at about 8pm. Very lovely atmosphere, intimate yet lively. Enjoyed a lovely fresh meal, served by very friendly staff and a bottle of vino - Go,... More

Great food and a wonderful atmosphere, the staff are very helpful and our choices of meals were cooked to our satisfaction. A super dining experience.

Came here for dinner tonight after being unsuccessful booking elsewhere and seeing good reviews. We were greeted with warm, welcoming service and enjoyed a lovely bottle of prosecco. The food was very quick - probably only a five minute wait between ordering and arriving. Starter and Mains delicious, although accompanying veg was a little disappointing. Pudding was average. Altogether a... More

We went to this restaurant as a group of 3 people. The staff could not care less and getting their attention was a task on its own. The people serving us seemed like they really couldn't care less about the whole experience. Even asking about the specials seemed like a bother. After we finished, we had to wait about 40... More

This family-owned Italian restaurant is a too well kept secret. The staff are charming and the meals are wonderful. The lobster with pasta is a bargain as are the well-prepared steaks. The specials are always special!

Excellent food and service. From the outside it doesn't look fantastic but the meal we had was wonderful. It was all freshly cooked for us and you could ask for it to be amended to your taste and it wasn't expensive.

Pleasant environment, not bad beer and good location. Unfortunately the beer was without foam which is very typical for UK.

Needed early evening supper on a Saturday, and luckily there was a table; we surrounded by locals and a few tourists, but the welcome was enthusiastic and atmosphere most convivial. First course of ham-wrapped mozzarella has been tried at home (but better at Casa Becci!). Husband's saltimbocca was deeply satisfying while my seafood pasta (plus good hit of chili) was... More

The place we had wanted to go to was closed at lunchtime. Tried this on the offchance not expecting much. However, the veal with lemon and veal saltimbocca as good as Italy even if the roast pots and veg were not quite as Italy. Very good coffee and a nice pud. A good new find. An old woman was lost... Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
