cool Japanese food

wagamama means do what you love and follow your heart in Japanese, I think the fashionable Japanese dishes here relaxed myself.

We had an hour to grab a quick bite between flights so Wagamama seemed to fit the bill for our appetites. We were given the menu and were asked…'How hungry are you'? It seems this is the company mantra as we were asked three times before we ordered. Not so subtle subliminal messaging. The person who took us to our... More

We had lunch here. It's a good place to grad you a great lunch. Don't expect great top food but good food, good price and good service. We love it and will go back.

This was my first time trying out this cuisine and branching out my food palate. Three words - weird food texture. Would not recommend this as a first date restaurant or an appetizing family get-together friendly place.

Couldn't believe I was being led here to eat but found it interesting to say the least., found some dishes to my taste but, as in all there's oriental style eateries, very little without a chilli dose which I really am not too keen on. Like the fact of light cooking - lovely crispy veggies..

My son shunned all the trendy cafes and bars in nearby Borough Market for the familiar menu of a Wagamama so he could order his favourite chicken Katsu curry. I had a brown rice and tofu dish (forgotten the name). Both were very tasty and with a soft drink apiece the total bill was £25. The staff were pleasant and... More

We were walking along the Southbank on a Friday and were looking for somewhere to eat lunch. This place is down the western end of Clink St. We had resisted the smells of Borough Market, mainly to get the chance to sit down and rest. As there were six of us, we had to wait for 5 minutes, which wasn't... More

Delightful meal here: a fragrant curry followed by fried coconut bananas and ice cream. Delicious. Also excellent service.

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
