Lovely neighbourhood Italian restaurant.

Went for the first time last night and loved it. Traditional and delicious Italian food with great atmosphere. It was bursting with locals on a Wednesday evening which shows that it is a favourite in the area. So much to choose from on the menu- we shared burrata and mozarella to start and then had... read more

One of the best restaurants in London, with a big choice of dishes. Desert choice is top notch too. Waiters are very friendly (once you get to know them though :))

Visited la famigli on a Saturday night and it was not very busy - maybe a sign that not only I find that there is room for improvement. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. The menu offers an extensive choice of Italian food, but the majority of dishes we had were not amazing. I had fried baby artichauts as starter,... More

Their website is full of stories about the chef and how he decided to open a restaurant in Chelsea, which sets the expectations quite high. Luckily they do deliver on their promise. The staff is very polite (although they would prefer you'd spoken Italian), the food is excellent and the atmosphere is 100% Italian. We had the Spaghetti vongole and... More

A very pleasant last minute decision to return to an old favourite and pleased they had room for us on a Saturday evening. Classic ristorante, established years and years, lively atmosphere, devil may care servers (well, at least one of them) but good fun. I had melanzane parmigiani to start, a bit sticky for my taste but delicious nevertheless, followed... More

We had booked a table for 7, 6 adults and a child. My son was asleep in his buggy and they refused to seat us. They then started talking in Italian about us. My mum then decided we should leave. It was so humiliating. We were made to feel so unwelcome. They clearly want a certain sort of people in... More

This is a great restaurant in a wonderful location. Get the tube to Sloane Square and walk or catch the bus up the amazing Kings Road. The pasta is divine, as is the fish. My friend and I thought we'd died and gone to heaven. Charming service, very unrushed. Deservedly popular, book a table.

My twin brother and I had our birthday lunch here on Saturday - there were 17 of us and we had a fabulous time. The restaurant is really pretty - we were seated on a long table in the conservatory which was warm and buzzing with atmosphere. It’s a traditional Italian with proper waiters who were attentive and lovely. The... More

I used to visit La Famiglia so often. It was one of my favourite Italian restaurant. I had so many memorable lunches and dinners there. As I moved away, I did not visit there for a while. Then last night... it was such a disappointment. The prices are really gone up, portions are much smaller, service was ok, at least... More

Well cooked traditional Italian food -- well presented and attractively served. Maybe not quite as well cooked as a few years ago -- but well worth the visit. The wine lost deserves a special mention and I shouldn't forget the pudding trolley -- haven't seen one for years !! The waiting staff are friendly and efficient they make the visit... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
