Good South Indian in central London

Wanted something central in Covent Garden, for a lite lunch and not to expensive. This did the job. Good quality food, fast service and price pretty good for central London. Its not fancy, just right for what I was looking for.

We popped in here for dinner as a family of 2 adults and two children (10 and 7). This was our first visit to a vegetarian restaurant so as a family of veggies it was great not to have to flick to the back to see the "vegetarian options". There was so much to choose from and it took a... More

The choics of dishes and prices were reasonable. I ordered food and it cam much quicker than I expected, making me think that it was preprepared. It was also lukewarm at best. It tasted good

We really enjoyed the Thali and the dosas.the dosa shaped like a cone was enormous.I would recommend a dosa and a thali to share. Courteous service and excellent value right in the heart of theatre land opposite Drury Lane Theatre.

I went there today based on the good reviews but I was heavily disappointed. Will definitely not go again. Why? Portions are small and SO overpriced. Here's an example: A small (!) portion of rice costs about 4 quid. 4!!! What??? Food tasted mediocre. I had the channa masala and it tasted like canned chickpeas mixed with canned tomato sauce... After reading so many good review I was loking forward to try it. I was disappointed, our curries tasted like canned food with spices. But worse than that, they charge 4.50 pounds for a small bowl of lemon rice! 4.50 !! I know some people found the place cheap but I found it rather expensive, it might be cheap for... More

I discovered my like of South Inidian food in their Hammersmith branch in King's Street. This place is more central and serves similar food, so I get to go there more frequently now. I have rarely been disappointed, and when it is too busy or, god forbid, closed, there now is another (different) South Indian restaurant right next to it,... More

Been here when we were last in the area and it was very good but this visit didn't quite match the first. Maybe my fault but I hadn't realised my starter would be cold. My lentil pizza (why ??) was interesting but not really a southern indian meal! Would probably try another visit though. Seems very popular.

We chose this place to suit a mixed family group - some vegetarian and some not. It was great - really good South Indian food. We had booked because there were six of us and this was one place that allowed such a group to book. Food was really good - especially the massive dosa. Atmosphere was very informal and... More
