The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

Always a pleasure...

....food Is wonderful and the venue is beautiful. The prix fixe is very good value, the tasting menu is delicious and the wine list impressive. However it is service that makes this restaurant special.

We had the 5 Course tasting menu. The food was superb - Scallop and Crab lasagne was one of the best things i've ever eaten. The wine selection was superb, if a little pricey. Also the building inside is fantastic at night. Will definitely return

The service by our French waiter was perfect. The waiter knew all the ingredients in every dish, which was exceptionally helpful as I am gluten free. All our food was delicious and could not be faulted. The best part of the meal was the cheese trolley. With such a range of cheese you can be forgiven for thinking you are... More

We visited late June for a lunch special - We sat outside to enjoy the summers day & it later filled up which gave a great atmosphere. The service we received from all staff was impeccable & very friendly - nothing was out of place or too much. We ordered from a set menu and again - perfection. The portions... More

I booked this restaurant for my husband's birthday dinner after reading all the wonderful reviews. It did not disappoint. I had booked the 5 course taster menu which was a bargain at £29 per person considering it is a Michelin star restaurant. We arrived slightly earlier than booked and as the main restaurant had not yet opened (it opens at... More

We came with voucher for a 5 course meal and having eaten at the sister restaurant, Galvins Windows we were expecting a great experience. Which is exactly what we got. We were greeted by friendly staff and were shown to a corner table in a sumptuous room. The waiters were very French and extremely polite and helpful. The food was... More

Visited the Galvin restaurant yesterday and had the seven course tasting menu with the wine accompanying each dish and I have to say we were delighted with the food, ambience, staff and the restaurant itself tucked away in Spital Square. One of the best meals that we have had and given that the restaurant was fully booked on a Wednesday... More

We had the 5 course tasting menu paired with wine. Fantastic! The signature crab lasagne was the best. Only (very slight) criticism is that the wine portions could have been slightly larger!

This was our first visit to La Chapelle and overall this was a great evening with excellent service and fantastic food over the 5 course tasting menu, great value at £29 pp. The only disappointment was that we had to wait 45 minutes for our table, and while we were offered complimentary drinks at the bar, this did little to... What a fantastic room !!! One of the nicest rooms to eat in in London that I have visited. As name suggests it was an old chapel but has been redesigned to make it a very modern room complete with mezzanine floor. Service was impeccable, without be over intrusive. Food was top notch with a very varied menu including a... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
