Description: The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

Service was good although we had to ask for a drink three times before having it! The starter with foie gras was disappointing in its presentation (compared to the table next to us! Same dish, different presentation!) and taste... A je-ne-sais-quoi was missing to be special. The main course with calve liver was killed by an overpowering gravy type sauce,... More

The city here i refer to the area between the river Liverpool St in the east, Holborn in the west and Clerkenwell in the north. Top notch food here, creamy risotto, impeccable venison, fresh fishncooked with annassured elegance. Not flash, and for us the quiet restaurant is the place to be, next door is the cheaper and nosier brassiere style... More

Great food, very good wine list, somewhat pricey, but appropriately so. Paris-type of place close to Liverpool street station in London. Nice old style design, cosy regardless of the high ceiling.

Visited with my Mum for a Sunday lunch. We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. We opted for the 3 course set menu with wine, and had a glass of prosecco as an aperitif. The bill was around £100, but worth every penny...... Definitely somewhere to go for a treat! We both started with the gazpacho... More

We visited this delightful restaurant for lunch after our granddaughters graduation. There were seven of us two grandparents, two parents and three young adults and of the seven three were vegetarians so we presenTed a bit of a challenge in tastes, but the staff rose admirably to the challenge, offering many more vegetarian options then were available on the published... We were on a coupon so sampled only the Chefs menu. The mushroom starter for both of us was a great surprise, warm delicious croquettes with shavings of parmesan to tempt and delight the palette. My calf's liver with mushroom and savoury topping was accompanied by perfect purée potato and on a bed of spinach - deliciously delicate and tender.... More

I went here with my wife for my 40th birthday. Both of us had the tasting menu, which is 7 small courses with 7 different wines. The decor and the layout of the restaurant create a real fine dining buzz, without any stuffiness, and the staff are numerous and very well-trained. Would love to go back again, but at £230... More

A French style restaurant, but better than you'd think. Typically French places provide small portions at a high price. This was excellent value (about £50 for starter, main and dessert). I would definitely go again!

I didn't expect there's a nice restaurant like this in the streets of Liverpool. We enjoyed the food and service. Formal dresses are recommended.

Celebrated a special birthday there recently. We'd been a few times when it first opened but i found this visit not as exciting as before. The room/setting is still wonderful, but the food, although still beautifully executed, is almost a replica of its sister restaurant in Baker Street - same signature dishes etc.and really the only difference was the venue....
