The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. A Very Nice Lunch in Beautiful Surroundings

I went to the restaurant with my son who is an apprentice chef at a top London hotel. He wanted to check out the opposition! We were not disappointed. We opted for the three course lunch with a glass of champagne and it was £29 per head. There was a choice of three starters, three mains and three... read more

Booked a table here on Tuesday and chose the 7 course with 7 wines gourmand menu. Each course blew you away with an amazing wine to compliment it. The flavours and presentation were excellent our waitress Megan was a delight and the French sommelier certainly new her wines and gave us a brief story of each one. A wonderful lunch... More

A group of 7 came here for a retirement dinner mid-week. The room, actually a historic hall, is beautiful, although a little dark, and the tables well spaced. The food was pretty good, albeit slightly on the meagre side. On the face of it, the service was also pretty good - waiters and sommeliers who knew what they were doing... More

A group of five former colleagues meet regularly for lunch in good restaurants in London. La Chappele has to be one of the best that we've been to, and we must have been to about 20 over the last several years. The dining room ( a former chapel/church) is a splendid building very high roof so lots of space and... More

A truly amazing experience. I have been on numerous occasions and almost always had the tasting menu. Starting from the moment you arrive and the champagne is poured you feel that you are getting personal service and everyone is falling over themselves to ensure you have a great time. The food is exquisite and the accompanying wine flight makes it... More

Top food quality! We tried the taster menu and were not disappointed! You get to try all their specialities. The waiters give great service too. Lovely romantic settings. Will try the Sunday jazz next time!

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
