The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

Gastronomic church

As always with Galvin restaurants the food and service are impeccable. Interesting wines and an interesting venue within a converted church. Clean toilets but they are up stairs and I could not see a lift for wheelchair users?

This was our third visit to La Chapelle and the first time we had tried the Menu Gourmand. the service is attentive but discrete and nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. outstanding dishes were the risotto with artichokes and truffle, the pigeon breast and the crab lasagne. They coped with my wife's wheat allergy very well despite a... More

I haven't felt so relaxed in a restaurant in a long time. The building itself is absolutely gorgeous so the "eye candy" factor sets an expectation of an elegant night before your bum hits the seat. The welcome from the staff is warming and that continues for throughout service. This establishment is the signature of excellence. It oozes it from... More

Another excellent lunch in this great establishment . They know you when you book and if arrive on a wet day, small towels are available to dry off ! Professional service from the word go. A fabulous starter of cooked oysters in a creamy, spring onion sauce was exceptional . Confit of canard just fabulous ,flavoursome ,rich , slightly spicey with... More

I have dined at all the Galvin (London) restaurants over the last year or so and I think that this is the jewel in the crown. La Chapelle is an extremely attractive building and dining room serving excellent food at competitive prices. We had the three course set lunch with a complementary aperitif (I came armed with a voucher!): we... More

The building is beautiful and the service is discrete but kind. However, i found the food on the 3-course lumch menu to be fairly dull. The beetroot, goats curd and walnut starter was not tasty and there were few walnuts. My risotto with artichoke and wild mushrooms was mainly rice and was mean with the additinal ingredients. Didn't understand how... More

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
