The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

2nd Visit to introduce a friend

My friend was over-awed by the beautiful old chapel in the heart of the city. This lunchtime, the light was pretty amazing. Busy service - but fantastic food and really great value for money. I have to say all three of my courses; the parfait, risotto and panna cotta were amazingly tasty. This... read more

What a beautiful and stunning venue! I felt i was a VIP as soon as i walked in. The service was exceptional and the food was fantastic. We had 3 courses and coffee and it came in to about £140. Will definitely return for their lunch menu offers.

Another one that hits that mark of good food at a price. I will certainly try the other various branches of Galvins spotted around the city based in this visit.

We have always been big fans of Galvin since it all began with Bristrot de Luxe in Baker Street, we went there when it first opened and have continued to do so for years. We booked Galvin La Chapelle very late on Monday (called at 18.15 for a table at 18.45!), the team were very welcoming and gave us one... More

I re visited Galvin with my family having had an excellent lunch here some time back. As it was a celebration we had the degustation menu with acompanying wines. The food and wine were superb but I'm afraid that they really hadn't got their act together in terms of timing. The co-ordination was awful, we had generally finished our wine... More

This is my new favourite restaurant; everything came together nicely - great venue, excellent food, attentive, yet unobtrusive staff. It was my birthday & I had the loveliest of experiences. Can't wait to go back to try the 7-course set menu, which we didn't have time for on this occasion. Prices were on a par with other Michelin-type restaurants -... More

I don't think I have been to a nice restaurant in my life. The food was divine and the cheese cart was excellent. The waitress was able to help me with my choices and I would love to go back.

I ate lunch here with a few friends and I can't stress enough how beautiful inside this restaurant is, it's truly remarkable and you end up eating just looking around all the time, well at least I did. As for our meal I have experienced better but don't get me wrong the food is worth making a trip for and... More

We have been there on Saturday 18.00. I really think it is the best time if you want the waiter and sommelier to take the time to explain the dishes and the wine they like or recommend after the service started to be busy. We had the seven course set (menu testing) and from start to the end the service... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
