The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

Excellent

A long way out for visitors to the west end, but well worth the taxi ride when we eventually arrived. Surroundings and service are excellent and the food is very good

A bit disappointing food. Very small dishes, and high prices for both food and vine. Ordered a main course, and left the restaurant hungry. Paid 50 £ for a main course and a glass of vine. Expected a bit more of the "old chapel" restaurant concept. Crowded place, and a bit stressful atmosphere. Very friendly staff though.

A: When the waitress at Galvin La Chapelle tells you it's a... foam. We were very much looking forward to visiting La Chapelle and it all started very well. We arrived early and were served drinks at the Bistro by very friendly staff. The Maitre D' guided us through to our table in La Chapelle which is very beautiful. Then... More

We arrived on time to find that despite a confining text out table was not ready, we are not regular but have been there at least 5 times in last year so should be recognised by name alone. Normally you are seated at the bar and staff come to you ,we and are guests were herded to queue by the... More

The staff at Galvin La Chapelle were so good. Highly attentive but not overly fussy. A mixture of young French and English people who seem to be invested in making sure their guests have a great time. The building is absolutely fantastic, one of the finest I have been in for a restaurant. The nearby area is great to explore... More

I just got back from La Chapelle and feel confused. I booked this restaurant for a dinner on a set menu basis via open table. Reason behind it , just to see how it is as I am hunting for a venue to celebrate my graduation in July , so I thought going for a set menu would show the... More

We booked a wine dinner at La Chapelle where they served a New World Wine next to an Old World wine with 6 different courses. The service was very attentive and professional. I have a sensitivity to Gluten, and they were very cautious with that. The food was beautifully presented, the wines were fun and delicious, although I did not... More

It is a beautiful space, great ambience and amazing restoration / decoration. The service is excellent and efficient. However, we found that the food lacked a little. We will give this place another chance though just cause we loved the space so much.

Interiors of the restaurant is beautiful. We had the 29 GBP 3 course dinner set menu through Opentable (which is available past 7pm, unlike a lot of other restaurants which limits such menus to early evening seatings). Service was not rushed but very attentive. There are three choices for each course and no additional fee for any particular course. Wine... More

I went to this restaurant with my husband to have a lunch. We had 3 courses, which were only £29 per person including a glass of Brut! Very reasonable, isn't it? All of the dishes were absolutely delicious and the waiters and waitresses were very polite and friendly. As we were finishing our lunch, I told a waitress unintentionally that... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
