Sometimes, the actual dining experience does not match up with the excellent reviews and that leaves the diners with a sense of disappointment. But not La Petite Maison! The food here is excellent - the burrata, fried squids, veal, fish and pasta were exquisite. Not forgetting the heirloom tomatoes on the table to be eaten with their homemade bread. Extensive wine... More

La Petite maison is a trendy French restaurant just behind Claridges and next to the Iron Duke pub Booking is essential and there are two sittings 6.30 pm and 8.30pm. The problem with this is that you are in the early sitting there is pressure to finish and not dawdle. Food is good and high end and the wine list... More

Despite the high noise level and scene, the food here is really excellent. The best salad nicoise, burrata, gnocchi and desserts. An extensive wine list and attentive service.

Heirloom tomatoes on the table with a knife, olive oil and a salt grinder - do I have to order? Can't I just keep eating these great tomatoes and bread? While it was simple, different and great I'm glad I ordered. They suggest you share among the table and I'm glad we did. Roasted peppers, burrata, lentil salad, baked aubergines... More

Went to Le Petite Maison as a colleague recommended it to my husband. We eat out a lot and enjoy going to nice restaurants. Before we left our table I asked each of the people in my party if they'd return and the answer was NO. The food was average, service very rushed, tables squeezed together (French style! but I'm... Superb French food. There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed the meal . Not one crumb was left on the plate with any of the starters, or mains or desserts. I can thoroughly recommend the seabass, beautifully cooked and presented.

I went to La Petite Maison expecting to have a taste of the French Riviera, but the food was nothing like that, specially at this price the quality of the product is average. On top of that the service is not very friendly. I probably won't go back.

This is our favourite go-to place for delicious reliable food. We had the black leg roast chicken which was very good. It's big and good enough as main for 3 or 4 people. The desserts were even better - especially the French toast were tops. LPM is always s bit expensive but that's london price for eating well anyway. For... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
