Very impressed

This was my first visit to a gaucho restaurants. We were able to get a table by the windows which over looked tower bridge. A great view while eating our meal. Believe the hype - gaucho is an amazing place for meat lovers and has an excellent wine list. When it comes to steaks its a close second to Goodman but Gaucho has more going on and a better bar. Definitely worth a visit!

Booked in advance for my husbands 50th following glowing recommendations from friends and we were not disappointed. Good food attentive service and great location. Cocktails whilst expensive were delicious and could not fault the food. Extra special touch were the mini sized chocolates with candle and happy birthday written in chocolate sauce.

Great views, tasty food, nice way to spend an afternoon. The steak was excellent, quite pricey though!

I took my wife here on Friday night and was not disappointed. First off the interior of the restaurant looks fantastic and the views of Tower Bridge are amazing. We did have a slightly inauspicious start when we were shown to our table and then left for 15 minutes, We were starting to think about leaving when our waitress came... More

We have visited Gaucho restaurants several times (Swallow Street, Manchester and Leeds) and the Tower Bridge previously in December. After arrival for our booking at 7.45 (after receiving a phone call from Gaucho to confirm the booking and an email) there seemed to be some confusion. The reception area was a total shambles - no-one seemed to know what they... More

We reserved a table and requested a table by the window. Arrived early and had a drink in the bar area. Excellent service, tried some of the nibbles and a argentine beer. Was then taken too the table, by the window :) where we had a amazing view of tower bridge on a clear night! Food was good too, it... More

I went there with my wife and daughter to celebrate her birthday. After hearing so much about the bistro, we were all disappointed with our evening out. We pre booked a table and when we arrived, were given a table near the entrance, so each time someone entered or exited, we had a cold gust of wind/draught around our legs.... More

Turned up with no reservation on valentines day for lunch. The staff were very welcoming, service was excellent and we really enjoyed the food. I think my husbands steak could have been rested longer as there was a lot of blood on the plate. However we went away feeling very impressed and will return

Just a quick summary is all that's required. Smart, darkly lit bistro with staff that know more about a cows anatomy than customer service. The steak was cooked very well and the side dishes were as good - although you expect that when food and wine comes to £60-100 a head. The view of tower bridge was breathtaking at night,... More

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
