Like shoe designing, whipping up a great dish is an art, says Jimmy Choo who has ventured in to the world of food with Maximini, an oriental restaurant near Hyde Park where the celebrity shoe smith is bringing a slice of his Malaysian home to Britain. As beautifully dressed as any of Jimmys A-list clients, Maximini is simplistic and chic with a hint of old fashioned colonial style which perfectly suits its fabulous Bayswater address. The irresistible Malaysian dishes are fused with more familiar Chinese flavours by master chef Albert Koh, to produce an innovative and exciting menu which, like a timeless pair of heels, looks set to become this seasons must-have.

Stumbled across the Chinese Restaurant, called in on the off chance. The service and food was second to none, could not do enough for you, food was not only presented lovely but it tasted amazing. Only one thing, the starters are a bit expensive £10 for 5 battered prawns?? They cost more than the main meal.

On arrival we were greeted by a clumsy waiter which didn't start the visit off well. Seated us at a table for two when we had a booking for four. The starters arrived within 3-4 minutes of having ordered, which made me think there were an overrun microwave in the kitchen. When the mains arrived, the chicken (chicken in black... More

Went for our company Christmas dinner in the second week of December. We had booked in advance and were a party of 14 people. We had asked for a table in the quiet area downstairs only to be told that that area of the restaurant only opens on weekends. I went to the toilets situated downstairs to see that they... More

I've been to this restaurant a number of times and thought it was pretty good. Visited recently for dinner and this last visit was very ,very disappointing. Extremely poor service and indifferent food. I won't be back for a long time !

We met up as a group of 12 for lunch. Thankfully the restaurant was fairly empty and for most of the afternoon we were the only people in it. The restaurant is located at 'almost' a corner. To be honest, I think I'd walk by if I wasn't specifically looking for it. It's right beside a pub by the roundabout... More

Visited here with four friends and we were all impressed with the quality and quantity of the food and service. A bit more expensive then your standard high street Chinese but in this case you do get what you pay for. All the food is halal and so pork is not available on the menu. Other than that plenty to... The food from Maximini is actually pretty good which in a way makes the shambolic takeaway service even worse! We discovered this restaurant on Just Eat a few months back and have ordered om five separate occasions. Three out of five have been delivered very late and the food was cold. Tonight's takeaway was ordered online at 7.30pm. I phoned... More

The place is in a good location, away from crowded streets and hidden a bit by another restaurant next to it. The seating and décor is good and variety for both veg and non-veg food. The wine list is decent and the bill will not blow the roof! A nice place to enjoy Chinese dinner unhurriedly!
