Much as I love Indian food and eating in Indian restaurants I have more often been disappointed in the last ten years. In many parts of Britain. I wonder if they classic Indian restaurant is struggling to get decent chefs these days or perhaps just resting on their laurels. Well all the better for concepts like the Masala Zone. I... More

We went there one night mid week after being told how good this restaurant is. We were not disappointed…the interior is sparkling and rather elegant for a chain restaurant…tables lovely, well spaced and the glasses modern and sparkling…the menu is very wide ranging and the beer selection very good. Food was excellent, freshly made, all totally delicious…will definitely go back... More

Has several traditional Indian dishes as well as some more modern creations. The meal I had was very tasty. Atmosphere is casual and friendly. Wifi is available.

Memories of Indian restaurants of the 1970s and 80's are well and truly banished by this bright and colourful restaurant. It mixes contemporary art with traditional touches like model representations of Hindu Gods to create a different setting from most South Indian restaurants . Its menu is varied and it claims to have unique mixes of spices and tastes -... More

Liked the Indian poster art, the bhel and snacks were pretty good but the thali was very disappointing and a long long way from what a good thali should be! Poor selection of dishes and did not taste fresh. Shall not be returning.

I've been to almost all Masala Zone restaurants in London. This one I already visited three times now and I always enjoyed it. This time I had the Grand Thali with Malabar Green Chicken, which I can definetly recommend!

If you are a real Indian n know what Indian food tastes like, you will hate it to the core.. The food was very bland.. Mix of flavours which don't get along in a single dish.. Black lentil (dal) which was actually served yellow n black mixed with sweet sugary taste.. Very disappointed after hearing all the hype.. Absolute rubbish..... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our first experience here. Lovely food, excellent service and reasonable price. Pleasant decor with vibrant colourful wall coverings. Would certainly return.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
