When I first visited the Masala Zone in Soho almost 15 years ago, it was the first time I had tasted a thali and thought how inventive and interesting it was, allowing diners to savour different flavours, a bit like tapas or dim sum. Having visited a few more times over the years, and as more Masala Zones have opened... More

This was our third visit to this restaurant and it was of the same high standard. The staff as usual were charming, helpful and friendly and the food delicious. The menu is simple and easy to understand and the staff very helpful when it comes to advice. As we only generally come to London for the cricket we had not... More

We went there and did not find the usual Indian food and got the Impression that this chain wanted to avoid that guests can compare them to Indian family restaurants. We ordered two different menus and got it a few minutes later - so it was not fresh made. It was not in the original thick sauce but the meat... More

good food , reasonable portions in a spacious clean restaurant . Excellent staff who are very helpful with choosing foods and who are not "pushy" its a chain, so efficient though perhaps more geared towards the European palette. Decent wines again at a good competitive price- especially for London. 4 of us had main meals and 2 starters (shared) +... More

This was the first time my daughter and I tried Indian food and we certainly picked the right place to go! Our waitress was extremely helpful with choosing our dishes that we wanted to try. My daughter had the Butter Chicken Thali and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do not tolerate spicy foods well so the waitress suggested the Saffron Chicken... More

This place that serves authentic and very delicious Indian food. Roughly 25 pounds for a meal for 2 people, this place also serves thali for around 12-15 pounds. All Asians may visit this place from homely food. Moderately Expensive. Walking distance from Hyde Park Suites, Central Park hotel and Queen's Park hotel 10 minutes walk from Bayswater underground station.

Well, we ate here too with the kids! Amazing atmosphere, the paintings are authentic and cultural. The meal was served quickly and presentation was second to none. I ordered the pistachio kulfi for dessert, it was the best I've ever eaten outside India! I will be sure to return, thank you to the staff for being so welcoming

If you are crazy about authentic Indian food then avoid this restaurant at all cost. What's good: Their service was good. No complaints there. Interior: They have photos all over their walls which relates to Indian culture, religion, cinema and lot of random stuff. If you look them closely then you'll find them quite offensive at times. With these photos,... More

My friend and I were staying in a hotel nearby and were looking to try some good Indian food. Our hotel recommended Masala Zone. I didn't realize they were a chain, but trust me, their food doesn't suffer for it! Our server was extremely sweet and helped us to figure out what to order (we were going to share). We... More

Masala Zone in Bayswater is one of our regular places to dine out. We have also found this an excellent venue for a larger family group. The staff are always pleasant and ready to explain the meals and understand that some people need a warning where something is particularly spicy. We usually enjoy the regular thali, but on occasions with... More
