After having been in London for 2 days and wanting to eat some lunch at a pub we went to the Porchester. I'd been dying to have a pie and it was great! Great food (and cloudy cider!) before going off back home [abroad] again.

Proved to be our local pub for the hotel down the street. First ate lunch with a great fish sandwich and most excellent lamb/barley stew, accompanied by a good beer. Went back for dinner, haddock and bangers this time. Complimented Rick the manager on his job - staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Somewhat on the noisy side at night.

We visited the bar during a night out in Queensway. The pub friendly and the staff were quick to serve our beverages. This is a pub you must visit while out about about the area.

Very disapointed about the outrageous behaviour of a male staff member !!! We were a group of 12 friends , meeting for a special ocasion . Has we were waiting for the other friends to arrive , we were aproached by the male waiter who told us off very clearly that the child between us was not allowed to eat... More

Just visited the new Porchester for brunch with a friend and I was very pleased! I live around the corner, and was very happy to find a new gastro-pub, suitable for all occasions so close! It is light, airy and arty with a warm atmosphere and I will definitely revisit for anything from working from my lap-top, a catch-up with... More

A very trendy pub since the refit in 2014. It's more of a wine-bar feel now but not in a pretentious or oppressive way. The orange window-booth seating is ideal for large group and the windows give good views outside for people-watching. I think the drinks selection could be better and hopefully in time there will be more local/independent craft... More

I've lived only a couple of blocks away from The Porchester for more almost four years, yet I've only been in once before because it always seemed a bit dingy - not anymore! They've done a fantastic refurbishment and created a great new menu. The atmosphere is light and airy now, very inviting (although a bit echoey, maybe some sound... More

Great food, good service. A little slow getting the food out, but I couldn't help saying a quick thankyou to the chef when I noticed she was in there doing the lot by herself. She said there were normally two kitchen staff but her helper was off sick. Considering the amount of meals coming out I think it was amazing... More

We went to the Porchester to celebrate my graduation, my family came especially from Mexico and 30 minutes after sitting at the table my friend's large camera was gone. The pub was quite empty and the cabra was just next to my friends seat but they still managed without us noticing anything. Needless to say this ruined this evening as... More
