Interesting food in a cozy restaurant

Never had georgian food before and I was pleasantly surprised. Had the meze platter (which was great) and dumplings for main. The dumplings were tasty but next time I'd share the dish with other people as I'd like to try some other flavours as well.

Tamada is a lovely place: authentic georgian atmosphere with absolutely delicious Georgian food. Personnel are friendly and food was served in a good time. However, the restaurant could potentially attract more repeated customers if the portion size was a bit bigger, but than we are students :)

We've been to this restaurant several times and it's consistently a very enjoyable atmosphere and meal. The staff are generally attentive, and the selection of dishes provides options for all tastes. The wine list also offers an unusual selection of Georgian wines that are otherwise hard to find in London. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant to if you're near Abbey... More

If you are looking for Georgian cuisine in London, this is a great place to visit. Myself Armenian, enjoy Georgian food a lot and know a lot about it. This place, I am not saying is the best representation of traditional Georgian food and taste, but quite close. Everything tastes great, however some dish portions are small for their high... More

Two of us had eaten Georgian food & two had eaten Georgian food several times in Russia. We all thought the food here was pretty bad on the whole. The meat dumplings were awful: the meat was incredibly salty & the dumpling pastry was thick, heavy & undercooked. The stuffed cabbage was better. The Georgian wine was interesting & worth... More

Great little place, with friendly service and excellent food. Hadn't had Georgian food before but will certainly visit again. The dumplings are great, the chicken in garlic and walnut sauce was unique and the black beans and walnut salad was a real surprise. Overall, certainly worth more than one visit.

Maybe we were just unlucky - but this was the worst experience we've had for ages at a restaurant. The only main dish we wanted was unavailable, as was the bread we wanted. We were brought instead some stale, dry corn bread, for which we were then charged £6. Everything was bad - and no hint of an apology for... More

We visited these restaurant that is located in St. Jhon's Wood a very small restaurant but quite clean and nicely decorated. I came with some friends that have never tried the Georgian food and with children. I have to see that the service was amazing and they were very tolerant of the children (as well the people on the other... More

Georgia nestles in the Caucasus (not in Africa as a work colleague supposed!) and combines a number of culinary influences from its neighbours and from the fact that it was previously part of the Soviet Union. On the menu there are dishes that are reminiscent of Iranian cuisine using pomegranate and walnuts and others that are Slavic in origin such... More
