I found the food to be very poor quality. The olives were cheap and were unmarinated. The wine wasn't cheap but again, was of poor quality. My basic pasta with tomato and basil sauce was the nicest part of the meal, but I felt disappointed when my side dish finally appeared. The sautéed spinach should have been relatively dry, with... We saw this restaurant on our first night and were sorry we did'n't go straight away , but our deal at the hotel included dinner on the first night. On the second night however, we made a booking, and received a very warm welcome by the very friendly and enthusiastic staff. The restaurant was full and fairly noisy, which is... More

The staff was very personable and the food was excellent. It seemed to me that the prices were very reasonable.

Have been here several times and this restaurant has never failed to impress. I ate here recently with a group of friends on a Tuesday evening and even then the atmosphere was great. The prices are very reasonable for London (including the price of the wines) and the food is of an excellent standard. The service is attentive but not... More

I make a point of eating here whenever I am in London. It so close to the many hotel situated on Southampton Row and a 2 minute walk from Russell Square Underground or a few minutes longer from Holborn Underground. It serves authentic unpretentious Italian food. Hearty and delicious... and their gelato is wonderful. It is good value for money,... More

Gave it a try as was across road from hotel and looked welcoming. Sunday night and was packed but still got food pretty quickly. Dined alone at table by window. Very pleasant atmos and made to feel welcome. Pizza Calbrese was great. Would go again.

I spent time in Italy as a student and missed the food when I got back. So discovering the Amalfi when I came to work in London in the 80s was really good news. I still look forward to it all these years later. And I suddenly thought, I can write them up on Tripadvisor now, so here goes. Lovely... More

Went in for dinner with three friends. The place was virtually empty, however eventually started filling up. Waitress service was rather slow at first, may have been a communication issue and then with the change of staff, things started moving. We ordered gamberoni, salmonella forno and fett porcini with non alcoholic drinks. One friend who is vegan had a dish... More

Had a fabulous meal at this restaurant that was 2 doors down from my hotel. Best gnocchi I've had outside of Italy! A little pricey for the neighborhood but excellent service and food and I highly recommend.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
