This restaurant was near our hotel and looked like a pleasant Italian eatery, but what a disappointment! First, the service was terrible as we never got any of the appetizers we ordered. For our main course we ordered something that the menu said was a pasta primavera -- aglio olio with fresh broccoli, peppers and carrots. What we got was... More

We were looking for some food late on a Friday night and after being turned away elsewhere we tried the Old Amalfi. They were really welcoming even though it was 10.30pm! The food was gorgeous- home cooked, tasty, Italian food. Great food, great beer. Staff were really lovely and it was very reasonably priced! Couldn't fault anything!

This little restaurant is a gem. Fabulous location, right near Russell Square, and small enough to feel really intimate without being claustrophobic. Charming staff .. very attentive and graceful. And, most important, really excellent food. Will definitely go there again. Would be a great place to book out and have a celebration with friends for a special occasion.

This restaurant is probably overlooked by bigger chains further up the road. It was easily the best choice, as far as we were concerned! The staff were very attentive and offered great service. As the name suggests, this is an Italian restaurant. Thank goodness the toilets aren't the same as Italian toilets! I had king prawn risotto - absolutely Fabio!... More

I had an awful day at work and finished after a 14 hour day. I went to find somewhere to eat near my hotel. It was raining and dark and as I walked past this unassuming little restaurant, I could see lots of people, some groups and some alone, eating and drinking. Tea lights on tables were lit and it... I have eaten here quite a few times and the food has been pretty good and good value, but the service is a bit variable and I won't be going back after my last experience. We were a party of 8 and after paying the bill the manager accused us of not paying enough - in front of all of... More

An Italian restaurant on the corner of Russell Square - a gem of a restaurant which is a well-kept secret. I eat here regularly for business lunches and have never been disappointed by the food. Excellent set and à la carte menus. The service is good and very friendly. It is always possible to have conversation over lunch, as the... More

We had been here a couple of years ago and thought, then, that this was a find, and that we were lucky to get a table. This time, there were few customers. The rocket salad was fresh and good, but it was all downhill after that. My husband's soup was greasy. The bolognese tasted canned. The sausage (undercooked!) and eggplant... More

We had a list of three or four possible Italian restaurants in the area, and unfortunately decided on this one. The service varied from inexperienced, with lack of English comprehension, to 'cheesy' and clearly insincere, the menu was lacking in the meat section, and not interesting, the food was 'Average' at best, and the bill came with a service charge...
