We were introduced to this restaurant by friends who are regulars when they visit London each year. From the moment you enter, you get the comfortable feeling of an Italian family owned trattoria. The ambience is friendly and the menu offers something for everyone, at very reasonable prices. My husband ordered a Caesar salad to start, I had the tomato/onions/olive... More

We ate here because it was across the road from where we were staying and looked interesting. It was also easy to book a table on a Saturday night. The main courses were clean, rustic and of good quality but the salad was pretty ordinary. Service was friendly and prompt, but surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night.

This little gem was situated across the road from our hotel. Called in late after being to the theatre to celebrate our daughter's performance so it was after 10. Most of the other customers were Italian( always a good sign in an Italian restaurant! ). Lovely friendly staff and wonderful food, especially the pizza 💗. Giuseppe even gave us the... More

I recently had dinner at Old Amalfi while on a business trip. The restaurant had a nice outdoor eating area, great for people watching. The service was great, friendly and prompt. The food was wonderful, I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was very good. Would recommend for a casual dinner

This restaurant was near our hotel and looked like a pleasant Italian eatery, but what a disappointment! First, the service was terrible as we never got any of the appetizers we ordered. For our main course we ordered something that the menu said was a pasta primavera -- aglio olio with fresh broccoli, peppers and carrots. What we got was... More

We were looking for some food late on a Friday night and after being turned away elsewhere we tried the Old Amalfi. They were really welcoming even though it was 10.30pm! The food was gorgeous- home cooked, tasty, Italian food. Great food, great beer. Staff were really lovely and it was very reasonably priced! Couldn't fault anything!

This little restaurant is a gem. Fabulous location, right near Russell Square, and small enough to feel really intimate without being claustrophobic. Charming staff .. very attentive and graceful. And, most important, really excellent food. Will definitely go there again. Would be a great place to book out and have a celebration with friends for a special occasion.

This restaurant is probably overlooked by bigger chains further up the road. It was easily the best choice, as far as we were concerned! The staff were very attentive and offered great service. As the name suggests, this is an Italian restaurant. Thank goodness the toilets aren't the same as Italian toilets! I had king prawn risotto - absolutely Fabio!... More
