Beautiful location, lovely food- though a pity I had to wait an hour for it

This pub is in a beautiful location, and is has a nice atmosphere when you enter. The food is nice, a bit overpriced, but that is to be expected with the location. Unfortunately I had to wait an hour from ordering my food to actually being served it. The bartender was very apologetic though, and... read more

The food was good but we never got to try most of it. We had reservations for Sunday Roast for 14 people last Sunday. We arrived at 2pm and they literally had one beef, one pork, and only chicken left at that hour. So most everyone had chicken, which was ok.... The pork was good, the beef was good, the... More

This place has a theater upstairs. If I had known, we would have tried to catch the show. Dinner was decent, above average pub food, but the real attraction is the show.

After a frosty acknowledgement from the bored looking bartender, a friend and I asked for two bloody marys. He proceeded to pour out two stingy vodka-tomato juices, handed them over and charged us for them. After he walked off we were left wondering if he was going to return to add the overwhelming majority of the usual ingredients of the... More

The service in this place is honestly one of the worst I have ever encountered. I went to this pub for a nice afternoon Bloody Mary to catch up with a friend as I live locally. The location is lovely but ruined by the inattentiveness and plain rudeness of the staff, who are utterly unwilling to offer up a single... More

I visited this pub one evening (on my own) as I was working in the area. What can I say – ticks every box. Nice staff, quick to serve and with a good range of lagers, craft beers and real ales. I love IPA and they had a couple of options on so I was very happy! They even had... More

For a traditional London pub you cant go wrong. Perfect location and good atmosphere for a social drink. However I ate Sunday lunch here last week and it was only just ok. I had the pork and there were lots of potatoes, 2 thin slices of pork and a mix of overcooked broccoli and cauliflower or thats what I thought... More

We have been dining at the Drayton Arms for many years, and very much enjoy it—we look forward to going for dinner each time we are in London. This visit we dined on a Saturday night, quite busy for them with a theatre presentation upstairs later in the evening. We ordered pints of cask ales, which are always tasty, good... More

Very odd staff for such a great venue. They need to self reflect on how they interact with their clients. Not welcoming or for that matter courteous at all. They get away with it because it's such a great space and perfectly located. Good luck to the staff

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
