We are creatures of habit and also budget travellers so when we found ourselves near the Tower of London at lunchtime we knew we could get a reasonable meal at a reasonable price at Liberty Bounds. This is part of the Wetherspoons chain and offers good value for money.

This place sits just near The Tower of London. After a long and tiring day, great respite and good food. Yes drinks were free when we were there. Try the Chicken curry. Portions were generous and the food was great. Hospitality full marks.

I've been sat in a train all day from Plymouth en route to China and me and my daughter have been fantasising about our evening meal which we planned to be a Sunday roast at the Liberty Bounds. Imagine our disappointment when we found out that senior management had stopped this menu 6 months ago. What short sighted idiots to... More

Stopped in for a quick drink and to rest our feet after spending the day at the Tower of London. Many brew selections and a fun crowd, so stayed for food. Food was decent, nothing outstanding, but very good considering how inexpensive it was. I had the chicken Tikka massala, which was a generous portion, but I thought a little... More

As I wanted my family to visit the famous Tower Bridge, we decided to stay in the neighbourhood in order to find a place to eat. The Liberty Bounds offers great food and experience, especially for non-londoners that only expect a pleasant british meal. Our burgers and sandwiches were all very good. Plus, we had a table with an outstanding... More

Stopped in for lunch while waiting for family members to finish touring Tower. Quite a pleasant surprise. Looks and feels like other old London pubs, but at a lower price point. My first exposure to a J D Wetherspoon establishment. Good pub food, wide selection of draft products.

We visited this restaurant Monday and had a drink called the Primm and also a dessert called Eden Mess. I thought the drink was good but couldn't taste much alcohol in it. The dessert was similar to a strawberry sundae. Great location and nice atmosphere. A little warm in the building as there was not air conditioning.

Breakfast and Dinner every day of our trip- excellent food, good prices and fast service. When you don't want to hang around waiting for food as there is so much to enjoy in London. The Liberty Bounds is an excellent pub to drop in for your food.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and was very impressed! The food was decent prices and tasted great! Didn't feel like we were in London when we were eating! The only downside was there was no air con so it was boiling! Can't beat a wheterspoons!!

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
