Satisfying meal for a weary traveler.

Had dinner here after the London marathon in May so it was pretty crowded and lively for a Sunday evening in the City of London. It's a pretty big pub with two floors. You seat yourself and place the order at the bar and a waiter/waitress will bring your order to the table. They have an extensive... read more

We were dropped off by a cab right in front of The Liberty Bounds on our trip to the Tower of London. We were so hungry we didn't really care were we ate, but we should have. The Liberty Bounds is essentially a tourist trap of a restaurant that is situated perfectly near the Tower of the London. You sit... More

We have visited the liberty bounds a few times before. Its set in a superb location with a beautiful view of tower bridge and the tower of london and the pub itself is really big with an upstairs and lovely toilets. We decided to eat here on a sunday but was dissipointed to find that they do not have a... More

Stopped in for a light dinner. Food was terrible. Hamburger was hard - asked for Med Rare (They have no clue what that means). The panini sandwich was best choice - relative to the other 3 meals at our table. Just bad food all the way round. Our experience was the servers really don't understand english. For food, don't waste... More

On a business trip and decided to go here for a bit of dinner. I unfortunately ordered a sirloin and it wasn't very good. There were also a few rude guests who thought it was ok to put their empties right on my table? Oh well. I did have a few beers from the selection and they were fantastic.

I liked the quick and efficient service considering it was a very busy Friday night. Good food, well cooked and presented and good beer. I was only there for one hour but I got what I expected, value for money and comfortable if not luxurious surroundings. No complaints.

A lunchtime pint, as it was Monday the theme was Mexican Mondays, so two good sized lunches and a couple of beers for around £12 pounds who can argue with that. Mixed range of customers consisting of local city office workers, and many tourist. Lots of staff to accommodate the numbers of customers. Well worth a visit for a reasonable... More

Close to Tower of London and a good local pub. Our hotel recommended here for good fish and chips. We were not disappointed. Not a formal dining experience if that's what you are looking for. Casual, find a table, take your order to the bar and pay and they will deliver your food to you

After a lovely night time walk along the Thames to Tower Bridge it was great to find this Pub open for a late drink. It was really lively and had a friendly clientele. Staff were knowledgeable about their beer and wine selection. Bar area and toilets were spotless, even on a late Saturday night. Would definitely return on next trip... More

We were out after dark in March and ready for some dinner. Having been advised that some of the pubs had the best London food, we decided to take a chance on Liberty Bounds. It was in view of the Tower Bridge. Each of us enjoyed our meal selections. Finding a seat was a bit tricky, but it was a... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
