My family and I have been going to Plum Valley for a few years probably once a month if not more often. As many reviewers point out this eatery is a little more upmarket than the average London Chinatown restaurant in both ambiance and food offer. We go mainly for dim sum at lunch although we did also take guests... More

I'm old fashioned, if I go to a restaurant it's because I want to eat. So my main criteria for a restaurant is and always has been: QUALITY of FOOD! After waiting for about 15 min I finally got a table. I was immediately impressed by an upmarket interior -and unlike most chinese restaurants- low voiced yet efficient service. Amuse... More

Went to this restaurant last week. We chose the set menu for 2. The starters were delicious. This was followed by crispy duck salad. We then had thai green prawn curry, a pork, and also a chicken dish. All the food was very nice. My only negative comment would be that the prawn curry dish was far too hot, and... More

A real disappointment! There wasn't quiet, People in the kitchen wrestling with plates. The Sweet&sour pork ordered was with 90% pork fat. The Fried rice hardly fried and the crispy noodles not Cooked, &On top a 12,5% service fee in plus for this service!

I eat in China town a couple of times a year and have been to 8 or 10 eateries. I didn't choose the Plum Valley and was wary at first as it appeared pricey. However you get what you pay for with excellent food from a varied menu. Not very atmospheric and not as many Chinese diners as some others... More

very stylish Chinese restaurant in china town, very good food and friendly service. Dim Sum starter was very good and seafood in clay pot as a main was excellent! Have been there before and it was a great meal again.

We chose this restaurant for my Mum's birthday dinner as we liked the look of the venue (!) and wanted something different from the buffet style which is predominant in Chinatown. The food is good quality and you get good portions. Staff are generally good although the restaurant in general is a bit dark. We would return!

Visited at lunch time and very busy. Staff very pleasant but unable to cope with the numbers. Modern interior, very dark and lighting on the staircases needs to be improved as very dark and a health and safety issue. Despite the friendly staff, there was a long wait time and when we finally received the dishes they were luke warm,... More

My experience of this restaurant with 5 fellow friends was terrible. The service was terrible and the staff seem to be incapable of apologising dispite forgetting the starter and getting the drinks order wrong.

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
