Family Dinner

This is a busy Chinese restaurant that offers excellent food in the centre of China Town. Lovely setting and staff are attentive and helpful. Big menu to pick from and all the courses we had were excellent. We will certainly be back.

Went for a meal at Plum Valley on a Friday night and was not disappointed. The food was excellent and was some of the best Chinese food we have ever eaten. The crispy duck was cooked to perfection and the sweet chilli chicken Kung Po and beef Rendang were sublime. The wine list was extensive. The only bad point was... More

Recently had dinner at the Plum Valley restaurant in Chinatown, London. Tasty food served in a trendy, upscale environment. Good service and a nice atmosphere - stands out from the rest of the restaurants on Gerrard street and in the neighbourhood. Pricier - yes, but worth it. Recommended!

Nice interior design, friendly, helpful staff and an interesting and varied menu. The prices are average for this area of town and the food is no better or no worse than one would expect for the price range. I would recommend and would return.

Always visited this restaurant whenever we could. There was a 'dark period' when the service and food was below par and horrible so we avoided for a bit but am glad to report over the last 20 visits over 3 years that it is back on top. The decor is very dark and moody which is atypical of Chinese restaurant... More

I dined here with a friend for a 'single ladies' valentines date, and although we had not made a reservation, we were delighted to be welcomed inside and found a table on what is perhaps the busiest days of the year for this restaurant. However, our delight was worn away rather quickly after meeting our waitress, who was visibly stressed,... More

This is a family favorite in London's China Town. I modern and contemporary decor with good food. Again another favorite and this trip I was dining solo after flying in from Miami. There are a lot of good Chinese restaurants in London and many are typical Hong Kong style, packed and noisy. Plum is the opposite it's tranquil and calming... More

We have Ben to Plum Vally three times. A nice restaurant amongst the cheap, tourist traps in China Town but far from fine dining. Good, quality food and a wide range to chose from. Service can be good or bad depending who looks after your table. It is not your average cheap and cheerful Chinese, so it can be pricey.... More

Wandering the SoHo area with friends, we decided to eat in Chinatown, and hadn't looked any reviews up in advance. After walking into one restaurant, and quickly exiting, as it smelled of antiseptic, my friend spotted Plum Valley, we went in, and got a good vibe, and nice welcome. We sat upstairs and liked the ambiance. Upscale, but not stuffy,... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
