Good pre-show dinner

My family of 4 had a nice dinner before heading off to the theatre a couple of weeks ago. We were looking for a somewhat fancier atmosphere than a pub but still informal, and Browns was a great choice. We ordered from the pre-theatre menu and were very pleased with the quality of the food. We... read more

Me and 3 others went to Browns this week, the food was nice but the service wasn't so great, everything was great until we were served are food the plates were hot and the waiter passed are plates over the table with no warning that the plates were hot so that meant I burnt my hand. I had the special priced lunch here yesterday and it was good. We had a nice friendly welcome, and on a hot day like yesterday it was lovely to step into the cool and airy dining area. Our waiter Farid was friendly and looked after us very well. Overall the staff appeared a happy crew which makes your dining experience... More

It was Father's Day and my daughter and I ate dinner at Browns, a restaurant I have eaten at on several occasions. We ordered the Sunday Roast. My daughter's chicken was so small that I commented to the waitress who arranged for a second portion. The plates were cold, the Yorkshire puddings were cold and tough (these were delivered separately... More

My family of 5 (3 children aged 13-16) stumbled into Browns after walking all day in the heat and not wanting to eat at some of the overcrowded touristy & noisy places. This place had the perfect ambience with a grand, classy long bar and comfortable seating and a great range of foods for lunch at reasonable prices. The service... More

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the West End near theatres and restaurants. There is a good selection of drinks at very reasonable prices, even for London. The ambience is nice, too. Solid Browns offering that can be relied upon wherever.

We were unsure what to expect but were surprised that the quality of food was actually quite solid, nice selection of drinks and relatively well priced. The decor and environment was also very pleasant and certainly made me feel as if we were in Edwardian London. Good experience.

I last came here 12yrs ago for my 18th and I have seriously good memories. Today I was here for a friend's 30th. I had brought a cake and was told they could bring it out and we'd sing etc, but that we wouldn't be able to eat it. I can understand that policy, so fine I agreed we'd eat... More

I used to frequent Browns all the time through the 90s and it really hasn't changed at all, not sure that a little updating wouldn't go amiss, but... Anyway had lunch here with friends and the food was still good, even the menu still had some long standing fave items on there. Service was pleasant and efficient, but nothing more... More
