I visit a friend in London two or three times a year, and on each occasion we make a point of having afternoon tea somewhere different. Our latest visit was to Browns and we invited two other friends to join us. The afternoon tea consisted of sandwiches with curled hard edges (including the 'heel' of the loaf) with microscopic fillings... More

Browns has always been one of my landmarks for years when meeting friends or just a place to stop by for a bit of quiet time. Right in the middle of St Martin's Lane, it's the perfect location for any of my out of town mates to find easily. Being a former court house, the decor still looks rather grand... More

Browns is always a reliable choice for any time of day - varied menu, always good quality. Don't expect fine dining, but a nice bistro atmosphere and good food that is hard to find in tourist central. Our Roast Shoulder of Lamb was beautifully cooked and fell apart, matched with great veggies - although both our yorkshire puddings were overcooked.... More

Two of us came here for dinner prior to seeing a show at the neighbouring Noel Coward Theatre and it is was really very good. It was busy but with a good atmosphere and the tables had just about enough room between them. We used a Gourmet Society card so had a slight limitation on the food we could order,... More

We booked ahead of time for a group of 8 of us since we knew that Covent Garden can get quite busy during the summer. We weren't disappointed by the food - quality was great, stand out dish was the wild boar burger. Drinks were great as well, and we happened to be there during happy hour/day so they were... More

I've been here twice, in October 2013 and in February 2014. When I first went here, I was looking for a nice place to have dinner after a film premiere in Leicester Square. I had made a reservation a week prior. Upon arrival, my guest and I waited about 2 minutes before someone showed up and took us to our... More

Ww took the precaution of booking since we were going to the theatre and this seems worthwhile since its situation inevitably attracts theatre goers. The brasserie was busy but we had good friendly service. I had what I think was my first burger. The Iberico black pig was unavailable so tried the wild boar and chorizo burger, good presentation and... More

A very spacious, comfortable gathering point in central London, right between Leicester Square and Covent Garden; they have good cocktail deals and offerings, and also decent cold pints for sale - they do not take AMEX though...
