Good ambience

I booked lunch for myself and a friend on a recommendation and was not disappointed. We had the set menu, two courses for £12.95, not huge portions but nicely presented with courteous service. What was actually a very tasty, well presented and reasonably priced lunch was completely ruined by the awful attitude of our waiter, Jason. He blatantly disrespected his colleagues and management for the delay in service when he should have manned up and taken it on the chin. I cringe when I hear someone in the service industry telling me that... More

Browns is the exception that proves the rule: a chain restaurant that usually manages to produce good food with a little flair. Its clever combination of Mediterranean cuisine and British classics gives it a wide appeal and its entre-deux-guerres décor with potted palms and cream-painted mirrors creates a pleasing atmosphere. Service can sometimes be slow, but on this occasion (a... More

Lovey Sunday teatime meal. Super, smiley service, lovely food, great environment. Roast dinners to classy burger and chips and pasta. Great family mix of food. Don't forget to leave space for puddings. Mm mm.

Second visit to Brown's after taking the family at Xmas and enjoying nice food and cocktails. This visit was a different atmosphere with a mixture of family's eating, stag and hen do's and the visitors just wanting a drink. Cocktails are nice and refreshing with some flamboyant mixologists behind the bar. Would visit again for either pre theatre drinks or... More

We haven't been here for a number of years so revisited hoping it would be ok as we were taking a party of 6. We had a great table, food was well prepared and price very reasonable for its central location (£30) for main course with drinks and coffee. It was an unhurried enjoyable experience and we will definitely be... More

I was taken to this restaurant for my birthday and on arrival the place was very busy! It seemed like a very London workers bar and restaurant, however there are staff everywhere and everyone is well serviced! We were swiftly stated in a spacious area and was greeted by our server, he was efficient and friendly and ensured we had... More

Brown's never fails to disappoint! This is my third visit to Browns and my second to this particular branch! The staff were very accommodating, I originally booked the table for seven people then increased it to ten. The staff were very helpful when over twenty people arrived. The food was great and the service amazing. I will continue to be... More

Reasonably priced-pre-theatre menu with friendly service and decent selection. Staff was relatively quick, but not quite as speedy as would have been useful not to rush to our show.
