We booked tea here recently as since eating at the hotel 3 years ago for my birthday, we decided to repeat the experience. Big mistake. Have not eaten afternoon tea at another place in London but tried a few hotels in other areas which were good, It was the same price as 3 years ago, £25 a head. I will... More

We visited the Aubrey after a show at The Royal Albert Hall as it was within walking distance. We booked through Top Table and opted for the 3 courses plus wine for £27.50 each. On arrival we were met at the door and made to feel very welcome. The hotel is impressive and the restaurant had a very warm, friendly... More

We ate at the Aubrey on Saturday evening before going to the Royal Albert Hall (it's about a 10 minute walk away). It was lovely and really started off our evening beautifully. The restaurant is with The Kensington Hotel and as others have said it's luxurious and welcoming, with open fires and sofas inviting you to relax in them. I... More

Decided to stop in here for a nice meal before heading to the Royal Albert Hall for the Christmas carols. It wasn’t a busy evening (Sunday) but we’d made a booking anyway. We decided to go for the three courses with wine for £27.50 each. There is a nice selection available. The roasted shallot tart was delicious, and the desserts... More

I met a friend for a pre-dinner drink in the bar followed by the three-course-plus-wine for £27.50 deal (booked through TopTable). The food was delicious and the portions quite large; we were stuffed by the time dessert arrived! We both started with the smoked salmon with soda bread (a lot of salmon, I would have been content with just half)... More

Took my Mum to the Aubrey for a cocktail and a meal before going to the Royal Albert Hall. The hotel is lovely and very welcoming, roaring log fires, lovely Christmas decorations and a really lovely homely feel. The meal in the Aubrey was excellent and the staff very professional, but friendly. I will definitely be going back!

The Christmas lunch at Aubrey was spot on, a starter of prawn cocktails then followed by Christmas turkey with a thick and pink cranberry sauce, and bread sauce to accompany , finished off with a nice sweet Christmas pudding.

We booked a table on Christmas Eve and had specifically booked the 3 courses for £27.50 which included a bottle of wine for 2 people. The positives were that the hotel is absolutely stunning and the food itself was top class - definitely worth a visit on a special occasion. However, if you book the three courses a big tip... More

We were staying at The Kensington and came down to Aubrey for pre-dinner drinks. They were as delicious as advertised - we weren't disappointed. Also, the snacks were quite good as was the service. Only reason it didn't get a five was because the cocktails were a bit pricey, but we splurged since we were on vacation.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
