Unfortunately I went on a Monday night and it was extremely quiet and there was lots of staff with nothing to do. This restaurant came very highly recommended and I was not disappointed. Around the table was Veal, Steak and Clam linguine which were all beautiful dishes. The staff were very attentive but I think this place would be better... More

The view across the river are lovely....however it certainly doesn't scream fine dining. The restaurant is inconveniently located and the ambience was hindered by the sterile cavernous interior. The staff were somewhat too casually dressed for my liking...jeans.... Fine dining??!!! The food was good, my friend had the clam dish which was amazing but the if you want steak best... More

Took some business colleagues here for dinner. The restaurant wasn't very busy so the staff to customer ratio was high. Service a little over bearing as a result. Food was very good though and the steak was excellent. My guest asked the waiter to choose the wine and we had a nice red from the lower end of the wine... More

Perfect location, staff brilliant, food fantastic, just slightly too small portions. Went for a special occasion with my girlfriend and asked for a window seat in advance which was no problem. Had biltong croquettes which were wonderful. Neither me or my girlfriend drink so asked if it was possible for something none alcoholic and were provided with a couple of... More

High Timber is a must for lovers of South African fare. The restaurant is part, or wholly owned by the Jordan family, one of the premier wine-making families in SA. Mine was a business lunch - a tasting of Cape Winemakers Guild auction wines along with lunch. Needles to say, the wines we were served, were outstanding. HT's wine list... More

After visiting High Timber on a Friday evening I will most definitely be returning. The restaurant was very busy both in and out. We were very lucky to get a table outside on the sun terrace. Starting off with some homemade biltong, followed by some crab and some juicy steaks. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the staff were... More

Visited here having seen the reviews on TA. Have to say that the food was just OK and the service was a little haphazard. There are a lot better steak restaurants than this in the city. On the plus side we sat outside with excellent views of the Shard on a warm summers day.

We started with the over the top Alex Mixed Up Salad and the special crab starter plus an order of Biltong, made at HT. My guest ordered a ribeye with spicy sweet potatoes. I enjoyed the saffron risotto with courgette filled with goat cheese. We selected a fantastic wine...one of the thousands available in the cellar that range from affordable... More

Visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago after the comments and reviews i have read. Booked a table on a Friday night and the restaurant was more than 50% empty that i must admit worried me a bit for a Friday night in London. I ordered a bead that came with butter that was really nice but we were... More

Very friendly waiters. We had a mixed salad, pork belly and two excellent sirloin steaks. Good value and a fantastic view. Top staff and a wholesome restaurant.
