Good food and service

I had a free meal voucher from my hotel and used it for the limited menu here. There were basics like jacket potatoes and chilli, however I had a grilled aubergine and goats cheese salad to start. Main was a salmon fillet with dill sauce and some very good well cooked vegetables (apart from the... read more

Food poor. No access to jaques so they brought food to us. My starter looked like nothing you'd want to eat. Husbands was ok. Main was ok but odd mixture on plate. Looked ghastly.

We dined here because we had a voucher from our hotel so the food was free and it was mostly good. The mackerel pate was tasty although extremely salty and my husband's ice cream with his apple pie was a yellow block of "Wall's" looking fare. The waitress was super efficient but she practically threw his dessert at him!

The fish and chips is nice. The wine is reasonably priced. The bar can get crowded so you need to book in advance. On nice evenings it is possible to sit outside if you don't mind the passing traffic.

Called in here for a couple of drinks on arrival at the Tavistock Hotel. However, they do not sell draught beers or lagers so you tend to pay through the nose for bottled beer. Nice place though. Bet it is great in the summer as there is a lovely outside area.

Our three course meal was part of a deal via Superbreak and we had the choice of about 8 restaurants/bistros linked to the Imperial London Hotels chain. The room was warm and functional and we were greeted nicely on arrival. All of the courses were large, well presented and very tasty. They were washed down with a bottle of house... More

Ate here as part of a deal with the hotel. Was so tired after travelling and visiting the British museum that we didn't want to walk any more, so booked a table here. Half a bottle of wine ordered £8 very good accompaniment for pate and prawn cocktail starters, chicken and salmon mains and both had apple pie for desert.... More

The 1st thing that you notice when entering the restaurant is the smell, not of food but possibly cleaning products. Once you get over this the prices and quality of food was found to be good, especially for London. Having dined here whilst staying at the Tavistock Hotel, which it is adjoined to, on several occasions. One occasion was part... More

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
