Pleasantly surprised

Had a free meal here as part of Tavistock Hotel deal. It was good and a bottle of wine was cheap. We ate here the next night too. Good lively atmosphere and used by all ages and 'types'.

I’ve eaten there 3 times over various London weekends. The food is very tasty, with enough choice to make it interesting without it being worryingly wide. There’s a good choice of cold and hot starters, main courses have fish and veggie alternatives, and the puds are good too. Food is tasty, filling and good value, with the wine reasonably priced... Attempted to eat here as part of our package from a sister hotel. Arrived after several minutes someone approached us and offered us a table. We then proceeded to wait a further 10 minutes for a menu. 15 minutes after receiving the menu and noticing other guests walking out without ordering we managed to flag down a staff member. We... The staff were really helpful & friendly. Food was really nice and reasonable priced. It also has a lovely outside seating area.

we had a voucher for a 3 course meal from superbreaks for this place. when we entered and the waitress saw the voucher she was down right rude!! told us there was a wait of an hour for a table ,when we asked if we could order drinks and wait she said the outside is closing in half an hour... More

The waiting staff should think about this old saying because they were anything but nice. If Imperial Hotels are going to offer their guests complimentary meals at this place, then it would have been nice if, when I showed them my free meal ticket, their attitude hadn't changed from friendly to downright rude straight away. I was given the complimentary... More

In fairness, the restaurant is not what I would call a Wine Bar or even a Bistro; it's more an upmarket cafe with outside seating. My meal was good, staring with a flavoursome mackerel pate and french bread with a new fresh salad & a sharp vinegrette. Main dish was 2 lamb chops (cooked as I requested) with grilled aubergines,... We were given a free pass for dinner for two and this was one of the locations where it was valid. The menu is average, food is average, service is average. If it wasn't free, wouldn't bother to go here.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
