This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

Delicious middle eastern food

On a lovely evening, sat outside at Troia and enjoyed a very good dinner. From the look of the place, I did not expect the food to be as good as it was (it looks a bit touristy) but was very pleasantly surprised.

Very nice quality for meat lovers. At noon, very nice meal deals with a small but tasty starter and a copious main course, enough to get you through a day walking around the city. And at night, a very nice choice of take-away dishes if you get there by 11pm at the latest, very nice way to end your day... More

This place caters to tourists, but it wasn't too bad. Good wait staff and service. Located behind the County Hall building.

- Geek food but with only postings of fish-and-chips - Mandatory service charge - Under staff - So so food - Not worth the money for fish-and-chips (but we did not try other food)

We spent a week in London and this was by far the most pleasant meal we had. The fixed menu is about £12 a head for two courses. We both had a bowl of very tasty chicken soup nicely flavoured with tarragon and served with an abundant and replenished supply of fresh bread. I had Adana Kebab, while my partner... More

Really handy for St thomas ' hospital. Food was really tasty and the set menu for lunch was good value and tasty for a light meal. The lights were really pretty. Would certainly go back and try different things on the main menu and even try the Italian one in the same chain next door.

This was quite a nice meal. The only problem was that the door of the restaurant was frequently held open by staff letting the cold air in. They really need to put a curtain or a screen in place.

Interesting menu, fresh food and very tasty. We ventured to try a Turkish wine recommended by our waiter which was also very good. Highly recommend for a family meal.

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
