This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

We enjoyed the food very much, we had as starters Humus with lamb meat and red sweet peppers. As main dish we had lamb filet with rice and as desert we had iced berries with white chocolate cream on top, everything was real good, highly recommended.

Lovely place near our hotel. Sat outside and it was great. Good atmosphere The staff were very attentive. The kebabs were delicious and the humus was probably the best I have ever tasted. Definitely would return here.

Visited this restaurant for the first (and LAST) time yesterday and was shocked at the service. My boyfriend and I only went as the shisha pipes fully on display outside the café caught our eye. All was fine until we saw the price...£20 for shisha?! Of course we had high expectations. For that price the apparatus might as well have... More

Troia. Amazing food, delicious plates with a huge variety - from English typical food to Indian Kebabs. Waiters were very nice to me, knew about the plates and were very quick with the plates. Not very sufisticated menu but very good foods. There were many options and all of them were cheap compared to other restaurants. It is located near... More

Hi I really like the fact that this restaurant was quite side of the area, we could basically able have our lunch away from the crowd. Delicious mezes and kebabs served with fresh bread for £11 per person. We will define try comeback if we ever visit London again

Dropped into to Troia before we caught the train home after a day out. Ali treated us as old friends back again. We don't have to ask for wine, he knows what we want. All the food was excellent finished with lovely Turkish coffee. Slept it off on the train back to Devon.

Very busy with tables crammed in. Service was average but not worthy of the 15% service charged slapped on the bill. Food average and typically Turkish. Open kitchen so you could see what they were cooking. Total price for meal was average considering this is in a tourist area.

Is it just the restaurant here or is it the Italian thing - to make people wait forever for a meal. Well it was a painfully long wait - so much so - some people in our group left (and ran out of conversation) but the reason I am rating it 4 is the food here. Cozy small place.

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
