This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

A good choice very closed to London Eye

It's a simple but good restaurant near London Eye. The food is good and not too expensive for central London. Quick service and friendly staff.

I have been to various Mediterranean restos in London and around the globe and I'm not totally impressed by the food here. It's more of a gastro pub type Mediterranean cuisine. Nothing much special that stands out. I do love the ambience tho, especially in the evening. We paid £34 in total for humus n pita bread, green salad, mixed... More

This Turkish restaurant is located on the ground floor of the County Hall buildings along with several other establishments. There are large windows opening onto the street and it feels a bit like a store front. There is an outside seating area and two dining rooms. The first is painted a deep red with dark wood furniture and a bar... More

I am sorry to say that the service in this restaurant is terrible. In line with this we had 0.3 litres of Efes but the check indicated the full price for 0.5 litres. Although based next to the astonishing houses of parliament I would not recommend this location to others.

Had a lovely meal while visiting London. Hadn't booked a table but gave it a try as we were staying at Premier Inn County Hall, which is opposite. The staff were friendly and the food delicious. Nice to have a different choice of children's meals instead of the usual chicken nuggets/sausages etc. Options for kids included lamb kofte and chicken... More

Sitting outside on the terrace for a late lunch, we enjoyed the vegetarian meze, the chicken shish kebab and the mixed grill. All of it tasty, fresh and good value. Service was quick and efficient - we were a party of 5 and they moved the tables round for us.

With our recent trip to London, after a terrible restaurant experience the first evening, vote myself and my partner decided to dine here at troia restaurant. We both received very nice food exactly as ordered. the staff were a little forgetful as we both asked for sauces on two occasions when finally the waiter brought the sauces but left them... More

We had a wonderful selection of Turkish food as their set menu (12 little bowls of differing tastes). The food was delicious. The place had a lovely atmosphere as everyone was enjoying their food and chatting away. The wine list was extensive. The staff were attentive and we had an excellent experience here. This is the second time I have... More

Waiters are not professional, some don't speak English, can't communicate with the kitchen about the menu. I ordered sirloin steak. It was like the tire of a car, super chewwy. Nothing extra in addition like a sauce. It is quick win restaurant. No passion for food and service.

Very nice quality for meat lovers. At noon, very nice meal deals with a small but tasty starter and a copious main course, enough to get you through a day walking around the city. And at night, a very nice choice of take-away dishes if you get there by 11pm at the latest, very nice way to end your day... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
