This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

Pleasant surprise

Having just arrived in London, we were famished and in need of sustenance. The hotel recommended Troia and we were not disappointed. Friendly staff and great mix of Turkish foods. Don't hesitate if you have the chance.

A very authentic menu with a wide range of choice. Plenty of staff and service was good. Meals were served quickly and the food was delicious. Great starters and the baclava was amazing! Very reasonably priced.

Not quick service but very good quality food and such a great lunch price offer. It was nice to be able to sit outside, even though it was a bit windy. It is directly across the road from the Premier Inn and a super place to eat when you arrive a little weary.

It was our good luck that we could not get a table at our first choice of food outlet as it meant we found the Troia. It had been a long wet day visiting Westminster and we were tired and hungry and this restaurant looked very welcoming. Menu was interesting and we all set about discussing what took our fancy.... This restaurant was conveniently located right across the street from our hotel. We came back from a long day of walking around London and needed food and a drink. We were seated on a nice terrace and our drink orders were taken quickly. The restaurant specializes in middle eastern (Turkish) food. I had the Ephesus white wine from Turkey and... More

Met a friend here for dinner but I found it pretty average. The menu was quite extensive so I probably just chose the wrong thing as it wasn't anything special (chicken shish kebab = chicken rice and salad, pretty bland). My friend had spicy chicken casserole which looked more appetising so probably should have got that. The complimentary bread and... More

Found this restaurant via trip advisor. It was close to our hotel and was the type of cuisine we felt like. Meal was very good, service exceptional and our waitress Azziza was delightful. Sampled some Turkish red wine which was surprisingly good. Meal was very reasonable and the variety of dishes means that there was something for everyone. All round,... More

I had no high expectations from Troia after my friend booked us a table last night. I had checked the menu online and it looked very standard Turkish.Persian food. But everything was very good and this is a rarity in London, especially in a touristy area. The food is good, tasty and of good quality, in good portions, and the... More

The staff was excellent particularly Malic and the girl behind the bar. I would advice everybody to come to this place. Thanks for the good times... More

We had a group of 17, some kids, and the service was very good. The food was also good. I had the chicken kabob which wasn't exactly what I expected but was still good.

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
