This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

Great food and atmosphere

We had dinner here when we stayed in the Premier Inn at County Hall. The service was quick, polite and good and the food was delicious. Two of our group had vegetarian moussaka which was huge and tasty and I shared the London Mezze (11 tapas style dishes) with my husband. The range was great and... read more

Excellent service. Situated opposite the Premier Inn, County Hall, with outside seating under heaters to keep us warm. The staff provided everything we wanted, accommodated all 9 of us inside for lunch, served us night-caps when we arrived at the end of exhausting days touring the capital, smiled readily and made us very welcome. Thank you, Troia, for your superb... More

Myself and my friend visited this restaurant with very high expectations. I LOVE Turkish food. I've been visiting and living in Turkey on/off for 21 years. Firstly the Efes beer didn't taste like Efes. They messed our drinks order up (they quickly rectified this issue) Had our mains, I had the börek which was AMAZING along with bread they served,... We wanted to visit an exhibition at the Museum of London, see review. We also wanted to visit our favourite restaurant so a lovely long lunch ensued with plenty of great food to eat, good wine and beer. The rapport my wife and I have with the staff is great so we enjoyed our visit again.

Adjacent to County Hall and the Eye, this down to earth Turkish restaurant is worth visiting for the free marinaded olives alone. Great service, food and value, I always return here when I come to town.

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
