This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

Visited here with my partner after a visit to St. Thomas 's hospital. Only called in to have a coffee, but was shown the menu and changed our minds. I had the berek, which were filo parcels with spinach and feta. Partner had spaghetti with cream and mushrooms. Dessert was baklava for me and death by chocolate for my partner.... More

A very pleasant meal was had by all 4 of us. Nothing exciting but the service was good, the Mediteranean food very acceptable and a comprehensive wine list. The only down side was a shortage of beers. Only two lagers and no ales! Would be a good idea to rectify that problem

I spent a single, after work evening there with my gf. The decoration and the table given to us were quite pleasant, but we were disappointed in the staff and the food. They were unprofessional, did not pay attention to us at all and were careless. After we had out very small portion of meal, the plates were left on... More

Three years ago I walked into a Turkish restaurant and was impressed right from the start. Tonight I eventually had the opportunity to return and am so please to say it has never changed. Troia continues to serve some of the best food to a consistently high standard, in an authentic lively atmosphere. This is a busy restaurant, which speaks... More

A lovely restaurant in a tourist location-close to the London Eye- but certainly not a 'tourist' restaurant with the usual run of the mill food. They have a very varied menu- there were four of us and we had moussaka (one vegetarian, one lamb), steak and lamb shish kebab. All the food was good and we enjoyed our meals. Service... More

Tucked away on a closed part of the street, lots of variety, including good choices for vegetarians. Food skews Mediterranean but good fish and chips too. Very friendly servers, really nice.

Very tastefull food. Very nice. Perfect kebab. The only negative is the noise, it gets crowded with lot of noise. I strongly recommended. Get falafel, kebab adana, humus

This restaurant has a great location and is very reasonably priced -- it would be a great choice for a pre- or post-theatre dinner on the South Bank. We love Turkish food and therefore choosing this restaurant was a no-brainer. The mezze for two is very good value for money and gives diners a chance to sample 11 different items.... More

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
