This smart glass-fronted caf, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

A good option for little ones.

We found this a very good place to eat with two young children who are very fussy eaters. They enjoyed the chicken breast and chips and asked to come back to the restaurant. The staff were helpful and efficient and the food was tasty.

Highly recommend the meze. Brilliant authentic Turkish food with alternative options if desired. Waiter service can be improved.

Welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere and surroundings and great food. We had the set Meze which was more than enough for 2 plus a bottle of wine and 2 bottles Cider and a large bottle of water. Price including service charge was £67. Well worth it!

Always visit Troia for lunch when in London. The menu is fantastic, from hot & cold starters, Greek dishes, mezes & mixed grills to delightful desserts with filo pastry & honey. There is a special ambience in the restaurant which is lit by many coloured glass lanterns. The staff are helpful courteous & it's a pleasure dining here

This is a really fine Mediterranean food restaurant with a casual Mediterranean flare to it. The food has Turkish flavor and the staff are very friendly.

we had a Chinese lunch in the plaza where Troia is located as well. When I saw the waiter bringing the food from Troia, I said to my husband - we are coming here for dinner tonight. Boy, was I right! I had mixed kebab, my husband had some kind of meat stew with veggies, my kids had chicken wings... More

I must admit I was drawn in by the beautiful colourful lamps. I'd seen similar ones in the Grand Bazaar, Istanbul. The food at Troia was true to style too. I had the Lamb shish kebab and it transported me back to my trip there with the rich flavours, but here in London the service was better. Definitely reccommeded they... More

I've been to different Turkish restaurants around the world. They have been top quality and authentic. This is no different. The chefs and waiters are mainly Turkish and serve high quality of food. The Turkish beer Effe is cold crisp creamy with a sweet touch. Been here for Lunch a few times before walking around the Big Ben and West... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
