I have been coming to Marathon for the past four years, bringing along all my friends to enjoy this tasty meal. I usually order one main dish and two side dishes and it is plenty for two people. Try spinach and cottage cheese (Ayib Begomen), along with whole beans (Fosolia). The m ain dish I usually chose is “Marathon” Special... More

Went here again on Friday night. It still won't win any awards for atmosphere, but the food is great. It doesn't seem to be on the tourist map - probably as it's not the most inviting to look at, but if you want big flavours and a very inexpensive meal, it's worth checking out.

I stopped here on the way home to treat myself to one of my favourite Ethiopian dishes, Doro Wat. When I got home I was disappointed to find just ONE miserable looking chicken drumstick in a sea of sauce. £8.50 for ONE chicken drumstick is a joke. I won't be using this place again.

Had a party for non Ethiopians but most had worked in Ethiopia and love the country and it's culture. The Manager, Tesfa, was helpful and communicative during the planning stages. The food was delicious and the staff very tolerant of us doing our quiz and party games. The local Ethiopians loved it when we danced in their traditional way and... More

Having tried all the Ethiopian places along Caledonia Road, we went here last night. The first thing I noticed (and took as a good sign) was that at least 90 per cent of the diners were Ethiopian - in fact it stayed like that all evening. It's not the most attractive of spaces - bare walls and some garish lighting.... More

I love this restaurant, they serve fresh and unique Ethiopian meal. I have tried other places but with spacious new look and good atmosphere I prefer this restaurant, the waitresses are very nice but needs more staff in busy days. However, I recommend friends to dine out here.

Having recently moved to the area, I wanted to try some of the local restaurants and this place on the corner always intrigued me. The smells coming out of there are fab! Inside it looks a bit like a golf club bar or something - reddish carpets and quite an olde worlde wooden bar. There are lots of Ethiopian guys... More
