Great place!

I had dinner here twice with my parents and brother on a short family trip. Food was good, portions just right, service quick and friendly. This isn't a fancy place, but I really recommend it. Not at all expensive, either.

I went to this restaurant using Tablepouncer a website that claims you can save up to 50 % and maybe more on a food bill if you book for the same day or the day after. We had just about passable fried calamari and whitebait to share then I went for saltimbocca alla romana (veal with prosciutto, sage in white... More

De Amicis is a quaint little restaurant on the main street near the NHG tube station. Though unassuming from the outside, the inside is cosy and comfy and the smiling staff make it welcoming. The food is very tasty, fresh and has a variety of options, including for vegetarians. Very good value for money. So, if you are looking to... More

I used to live down the road from this family run restaurant and so glad it is still there. Food is still authentic, staff wonderful and prices reasonable, please go and eat there as we need places like this to survive.

This restaurant was recommended by the front desk at my hotel. It was within walking distance of the hotel so I decided to give it a try. It was a great recommendation. This is a small family owned and run Italian restaurant. Since this is a small restaurant it fills up very quickly so on Friday and Saturday night it... More

I traveled to London with my picky eaters 11 and 8. My youngest had spaghetti, and my oldest had margherita pizza. Delicious!. My husband had the minnestrone soup and the ravioli spianch and ricotta with sage and it was amazing! And we fought over the last piece of garlic bread. We returned two nights later and ordered 2 orders of... More

I found this restaurant by accident over 7 years ago and now seek it out when on business in the area. Home made food no fuss.

When I walked from the metro station Notting Hill Gate to the Double Tree Hyde Park hotek I passed this restaurant. So after bringing my items in my hotel room I went to this restaurant for dinner. I received a warm Italian welcome. It made me happy to hear that the staff was Italian, because Italian people are having the... More

I knew there was a few italians, and working late so I asked the hotel reception for an Italian restaurant. Des Amicis, about 500 metres down the road ... Only a couple of tables free when I arrived and there were arrivals of past returners, including one couple who were squeezing in a meal before heading to the airport ...... More

This was the perfect place for dinner after flying across the Atlantic. What I would call Italian comfort food. We enjoyed the warm garlic bread, chicken cacciatore (one of the evening's specials), and the veal saltimbocca. Both entrees were accompanied by roast potatoes and a mix of green beans and peapods. Friendly service in a warmly lit small space.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
