A great night out!

Went there with friends on Saturday to celebrate my wife's forthcoming 60th birthday and what a great evening we had. It kicked off as it continued when the maitre d said that our pre dinner drinks were on the house as he had overheard that we there to celebrate - a nice touch. We had various... read more

I have been to Boisdales many times for lunch but this is the first time I have eaten there for dinner. The dining room is in the basement and it is quite cosy with lots of arches and nooks to tuck away tables. The ambience is good and there was a pianist providing some background music which was quite nice,... More

I came here for Friday lunchtime and it wasn't particularly busy. We were given a booth for 4 of us which was very nice. The décor in the restaurant is a bit quirky but it is interesting. The waiter came quickly to take our order but he didn't repeat back to us what we had ordered to check so we... More

We visited Boisdale of Bishopsgate for after work drinks on a Friday. I expected something similar to the Canary Wharf bar. Significantly smaller, all walls were red - can feel quite depressing! Staff were extremely courteous and professional. Asahi is the only option in lager and £5.95 per pint is not cheap. Wine was expensive too. No music until 7pm.... More

I enjoyed an excellent business lunch here on Monday. It was predictably quiet so service was swift. Polite staff, an excellent 40 day aged steak on the bone with creamy mash and a chick pea cabbage and bacon side which were fab. 50% off food made it even better! Client commented on the excellent standard of food. Yes the decor... More

I was part of a group of 8 who had a business dinner at this restaurant. One of the people in the group lives in London but is of Scottish heritage. Before we arrived at the restaurant this individual raved about how good the haggis and steak were at this place. He specifically mentioned that the steak was aged etc.... More

Food is not cheap but of a good standard that is no doubt and menu not the same on the night as seen on the website the day before. Atmosphere is very good - jazz piano excellent - but being next to him it was a little loud. Side vegetables were cold but when told the cost was removed from... More

The title sums it up really. Booked this for an evening with my US Exec team to show them something high quality and distinctly British. Our pre-booked table was right next to the piano which might have suited some people but sadly not us. Only half the table were offered drinks, no bread was offered at all until we asked... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
