Booked this restaurant for some clients visiting from Denmark having read reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not dissapointed. Good venue for a business lunch although tables are a little close and you can overhear others conversations so not as private as other restaurants. Service was excellent from initial welcome through to getting the bill as soon as I asked for it. Waiting staff were present but not overbearing. One slight faux pas was the fact that our waiter... This is the first review I have ever written on anything ! Spent last night (Sat 21st March 2015 ) in this restaurant. We have previously visited the Canary Wharf version of this restaurant ( a last minute thing as Joe Sample had cancelled a gig at Ronnie Scotts )and really enjoyed it. I was worried when I was booking... More

I can honestly say this is my favourite restaurant in the world, and I'm very glad it's in London so I can repeat the experience frequently. The chef, Sam, and his team created a dining experience to remember. I had Angus fillet on the bone, which is a tricky cut to get evenly cooked and my only complaint was that... More

Had lunch here in a party of 7. They gave us a square table, which was excellent for conversation and far better than the normal configuration of a long table. Restaurant has the feeling of a cosy club dining room, carpeted and full of atmosphere - excellent venue when you want to hold a conversation. Service was just right, there... More

The food was amazing, the wine was brilliant and the staff were invisible but everywhere. You get what you pay for here.

Booked this restaurant on the '2 courses for £19.95 offer' on Opentable after reading reviews and was not disappointed. The restaurant has lots of character, and we really enjoyed the live Jazz band in the background also. We went there on a Friday evening and it was such a lovely surprise to enter such a classy, elegant venue just moments... More

Boisdale of Bishopsgate has been a city institution for many years it seems. Located in a narrow alley off Bishopsgate, close to Liverpool Street station, it has been serving steak and British classic food for many years and is a good choice for an old-fashioned City business lunch. I've been twice and had steak both times, and both times it... More

As a true Scot I was dubious to try out a Scottish restaurant in London. I was instantly impressed by the service from the minute we arrived. Staff very helpful and quick. They keep an eye on your glasses and top up the wine without you even asking. We had haggis to start which was fantastic and steak for main... More

This restaurant is a favourite with corporate cards. The front of house tries very hard to please and the ambience is excellent but the food, bar the steak, is mediocre. Our vegetables were cold, and one plate arrived very late, which was dealt with very well, but my feeling is that the overall organisation and broad skills in the kitchen... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
