Came here with my elderly folks. Food was excellent and on a par with anywhere else I've been, sourced very specifically and prepared and cooked without a flaw. Alcohol can be expensive but that's because it's all genuinely really good - no expensive bottles of cheap wine here, it's all been bought with consideration and taste. Service was excellent and... I have used 'place' in the title as this is more than just a restaurant. Of the 3 Boisdales in London I decided on the Bishopgate location as it was near to several other areas for befores and afters. On arrival you make yourself know and head for the superbly whiskey stocked upstairs bar, where the atmosphere a little oldie... More

Enjoyed great meal expertly explained by the waiter, needed as i'm not a foodie. Food a bit pricey £130 for 2 with wine without desert or coffee. Shame about the humourless pianist !

On a recent business trip to London, I tried this restaurant, based on the recommendation of a friend who lived in London for 4 years as an exPat. This was a great choice. Its hard to find, down an ally (Swedeland Court is an alley) right near the Liverpool station, but well worth the search. Upstairs is a large bar... More

Not familiair with London (it had been about 10 years ago), we had dinner in this beautiful restaurant, located in the city center, at the end of a small alley. You really have to know it. A lot of red in the furniture and the airco was a little cold (they tried to stop the thing and that was quite... More

Used the surf and turf Amazon local deal. Service was very good, with friendly helpful and polite staff and food was pretty quick. The lobster, chips were very nice and the majority of the steak was amazing. The interior of the place is nice and makes a change from the packed streets around Liverpool Street.

Very traditional with decent atmosphere. I and my client had the Haggis and Whisky to start, which was very good. For the main course I went for rib of beef and my client had Venison. The Venison looked very good but I was pretty disappointed with my beef. The menu stated it was aged 40 days and, as it's on... More

This place used to be good. Not sure if the management has changed but the quality of the food was at best average on my last visit. The service however was appalling. I have been to Boisdales many times for lunch but this is the first time I have eaten there for dinner. Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
