Good value for money

We had a pre-theatre meal here and thought the food and atmosphere were both very good. The restaurant was very busy but the staff coped very well with the number of guests and the service was excellent. Considering the location, it is very good value as well....2 courses for about £15.

We have dined at this restaurant for years and it is as good now as it was the first time that we went there. Really good food, reasonably priced wines and drinks and excellent service. Well worth a visit.

Visited on a Thursday early evening. My sister had fish which she said was very nice, however the only vegetarian choices were pasta or 'pancake filled with spinach, mushroom and goats cheese.. Not wanting pasta yet again when I ate out I chose the pancake. However it was tasteless and unappetising, in fact probably one of the worst meals I... More

Staff were friendly and service was quick. Dined with one other person and we had 2 courses for less than £15. The starters were amazing; calamari and deep fried brie, both delicious! Mains were also very tasty. Visited on a Saturday afternoon so it was busy but we didn't have to wait for a seat and the food arrived quickly.... More

We had some “issues” with the breakfast buffet at our otherwise fabulous hotel in Piccadilly Circus / Leicester Square, so we were on the look-out for an alternative when we stumbled across Bistro 1 while wandering through SOHO one night. It looked like a nice spot, the sign said they opened at 8am, and the Breakfast menu looked good. Note:... More

This is the perfect place if you are going to the theatre and you want an inexpensive meal with good service. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. We chose the 2 courses for £14.90 (3 for £16.90). At this price you do not expect "fine" dining but the food was well cooked and tasty. It is... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
