Flavorful Food, Friendly Service

Unlike most reviewers, we weren't there either before or after the theater. The food is good honest mediterranean fare, prices are excellent value and they don't sneak the cost up by over charging for drink like some so-called cheap eateries do (so we had two bottles!). I had a nice lunch with 2 friends, we were not rushed at all despite the fact that it's a small place right in the middle... More

We recently found ourselves in the West End for a few days and discovered that our old friend Bistro 1 now opens at 8am daily for breakfast. and what a breakfast. Great ingredients well cooked and faultlessly served for a fiver. Fantastic! If you are in the Soho area for lunch, then do try their Prix Fix. Two courses for... More

This restaurant is really not worth it, I was quite surprised to see so many positive reviews as my partner and I left very disappointed, and still hungry. It is not good value, the 2 course meal is almost £15, the plates are very small and tasteless, along with drinks our meal cost over £45. The starters we had were... More

Bistro 1 is one of those restaurants that you might believe can't exist nowadays with all the ubiquitous chains cluttering up the High Streets of the UK. However, and hallelujah, it does! Set in the middle of proper Soho, nearly opposite Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, is this cosy restaurant, serving tasty no-nonsense Mediterranean food at very acceptable prices. I was... More

For an inexpensive well cooked meal in pleasant and cosy surroundings, I can thoroughly recommend Bistros 1 in London's Soho. We had 3 courses for less than some restaurants had charged for 1, the staff were polite and attentive and were extremely keen to make sure everything was to our liking. Will certainly go there again when I next visit... More

I've been coming to Bistro 1 for years now - both Frith Street and the other branches throughout London and have yet to come across a restaurant that does a cheaper three course meal. It's always packed, which is a good sign, and has a great atmosphere. I've dined here with old work colleagues, friends before a night out, the... More

From the moment walking in until we left, everything was superb. A nice choice of the set menu at £14.90 for two courses. 5 of us and all 5 were delighted with the place. Great quirky décor and lights. The staff were excellent and welcoming and a good advert for the place. Not disappointed at all. Not rushed and great... More

After looking around for somewhere to eat we eventually chose Bistro1. Apart from one ingle diner we were the only ones in the place to begin with, although it did start to fill up quite quickly. The service was patchy - we started off with one very pleasant waiter who then disappeared and another one took his place, but then... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
