Looking for a restaurant for a pre-theatre dinner and found Bistro 1 in Beak Street, just round the corner from Carnaby Street and London Palladium. Two courses (either Starter and Main or Main and dessert) for £11.90 and a glass of wine! Meal was excellent, good sized portions and I can really recommend this lovely restaurant.

Popped in for a mid week dinner, went for the 2 courses deal. Large portions and tasty food. Varied menu with plenty of choice. If you want a no frills but very tasty dinner this is the place to come. 2 courses and a glass on wine each came to £31 in total with just a tip to add. Bargain!!

I found this place just walking along the street. So many places in that area seem like factories. This was very pleasant. The staff was was very friendly and helpful. Sometimes when I eat alone on business trips, as I was this time, it feels like they are trying to get you out as fast as possible. Not here though.... More

I was a bit suspicious when we booked a table for the evening menu at £11.95 for two courses (£13.95 for three), then as we arrived we walked past crowded restaurants and bars, some with queues, to find Bistro 1 with only one table occupied. Uh-oh, what's wrong with it? we thought - but the answer was absolutely nothing! We... More

A small cute restaurant with eastern decor. The staff were very friendly and seated us next to the big open window, great in summer. They have a deal for 2courses for £8-9 which is excellent value. The food is quite simple but really tasty. They also give you bread and olives with your drinks. I had the calamari starter and... More

We had a wonderful meal at a really affordable price. 2 2 course meals with wine for only £35. Food was lovely and the service was great too.

We dropped in here on the off-chance for an evening meal. The board outside offered two courses for £11.95 or three for £13.95 and I must admit I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. A great choice of starters and mains. Before we had even had a chance to read the menu we were supplied with bread and olives.... More

We booked a table for 6 pm to eat at Bistro 1 before a show in Piccadilly, and ate off the fixed menu, which included a free glass of wine, all served extremely efficiently by friendly staff, which meant we ended up having 3 courses which we hadn't expected to do. Surprisingly busy considering it was a Tuesday night at... More

Had a meal late on a bank holiday Sunday afternoon, pre-theatre. Was quite surprised by the menu - it seemed to go on forever, almost too much choice. I ordered warm bacon and potato salad to start and the other half ordered the Felafel and Houmous. My salad was a good size and although the presentation wasn't fabulous, there was... More

Enticed by excellent value pre-theatre dinner + wine offer. Only one other table occupied during our visit. No atmosphere whatsoever. No choice of wine other than colour. Calamari starter tasted like pre-frozen, chicken skewers very dry & side salads with both very basic with no dressing. Main courses no better. Mediterranean chicken dish was a mish-mash of meat & veg... More
