Still good, but prices have increased :-(

Visited again yesterday evening. The menu is still good, service good, wine good.............but set meal prices have gone up by about 25%. To be honest, its still a great venue and prices are still OK for central London, but they're not so good as they were last year! Maybe its my fault for... read more

This place was recommended by a friend for me and my boyfriend. The restaurant its self was a lovely setting for an evening meal and for the location great price. The food however was slightly disappointing due to both of our main meal meat being burned. The restaurant wasn't busy so not as if there's any excuse really. Walking around... More

Visited Bistro 1 yesterday evening, meeting up with 4 others (a cousin and her partner from Essex and distant relatives visiting from Australia). My cousin and her partner had visited Bistro 1 before but it was a first for us. My husband and I had eaten lunchtime so I didn't want much but they were more than happy for me... More

This is part of 3 restaurants in a small chain and reminded me very much of the simple tasty food you get in Greece and Cyprus. It's not 5 star, but then what do you expect at these prices? We had a 2 course lunch with a glass of Prosecco for under £10 each, you'd pay more eating at McDonalds... More

No this is not michellin star stuff but you get what you pay for and, i have to say, I have been here many times and never had a bad meal. Service is quick and efficient, and food is always tasty.

We found this great little bistro a few months ago and returned yesterday. That's always risky as often one is disappointed. However we were very pleased to find that it continues to be of of our favourite eateries in central London. The set menu is varied and the food we enjoyed was excellent. For starters we had calamari and bacon... More

This is obviously a very popular restaurant judging by the queues and wait for tables; and the well signed meal deal of £11.90 for 2 courses; and its location is perfect. There is a vast array of restaurants and eateries in this area; but this is certainly one to avoid. Its true you get what you pay for, but really... More

Looking for a restaurant for a pre-theatre dinner and found Bistro 1 in Beak Street, just round the corner from Carnaby Street and London Palladium. Two courses (either Starter and Main or Main and dessert) for £11.90 and a glass of wine! Meal was excellent, good sized portions and I can really recommend this lovely restaurant.

Popped in for a mid week dinner, went for the 2 courses deal. Large portions and tasty food. Varied menu with plenty of choice. If you want a no frills but very tasty dinner this is the place to come. 2 courses and a glass on wine each came to £31 in total with just a tip to add. Bargain!!

I found this place just walking along the street. So many places in that area seem like factories. This was very pleasant. The staff was was very friendly and helpful. Sometimes when I eat alone on business trips, as I was this time, it feels like they are trying to get you out as fast as possible. Not here though.... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
