we were invited by a member to dine with his group in January. we enjoyed a set menu of 4 courses which offered traditionsl, quite formal dining in the forner Lady Astor bedroom! enjoyable, service was attentive without being intrusive. if you get the opporuinty do try it.

This is review for the Naval Military Club (In and Out) Pros - they have updated the bathroom facilities with modern shower, toilet and sink. Beds are small but comfortable. Plenty of task lighting. One big positive -- location -- about 400 yds from Piccadilly station. I understand the purpose of clubs like this -- that is how i made... More

Unless you have specific ties with the naval or armed forces, I think you would struggle to see the benefit of visiting this club. I felt honoured to be invited in and admittedly the whole venue was lighter and brighter than I expected - but the demographic here is grey and ageing, and the staff and offering are matched accordingly.... I have been staying at "The In and Out" for many years, each time I visit London. A few steps from Piccadilly Circus, it is the perfect location for theatre, dining, shopping and business in town. Staff are all very friendly and efficient and welcome you like a long lost family member. Dinner in The Coffee Room offers excellent food... More

A nice place to stay for a short stay in London in a wonderful location close to everything. The splendid building itself is a must see and the rooms are fully convenient and equipped, even if the single ones are small and sometimes noisy in the morning when the cleaning staff arrives. A warm welcome and help from the staff... More

Superb Xmas lunch in a friendly atmosphere - really good chef - unfortunately he is off to new pastures after 3 years or so but I'm assured his replacement will be as good. Good wines too. An excellent club in the heart of London.

The Naval and Military is fearfully pompous when an approach is made for a booking from members of reciprocal clubs. Unlike some smarter London clubs, reciprocal membership cards aren't enough (why not?) - the would-be guest has to go to all the trouble of getting their home club to send an email confirming membership (are there really so many fraudulent... We stayed here for 2 nights attending a wedding. The room was small with no air conditioning and very hot, the en suite was again small but adequate with the basics supplied. Continental breakfast was included, this was excellent with attentive staff topping up tea, coffee and toast and a great selection of pasties, fresh fruit and yogurts. An option of... More

Full of character with numerous naval artefacts as befits a naval club. Rooms of high standard well equipped. A few minutes from Green Park Underground. Breakfast served in opulent room . Excellent choice. Friendly staff. Can't think of a better location for a short break in London . Strongly recommend .

Staying in London for work and made use of affiliate membership and brought 2 guests who were wholly impressed. Location is perfect for Central London. Staff are well informed, warm and helpful; atmosphere is relaxed and non stuffy. Building itself is a real gem. Facilities are great; gym, pool and tiny barber shop. My room was an Officer's Cabin which... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
