we were invited by a member to dine with his group in January. we enjoyed a set menu of 4 courses which offered traditionsl, quite formal dining in the forner Lady Astor bedroom! enjoyable, service was attentive without being intrusive. if you get the opporuinty do try it.

Entirely agree with jancv. Impossible to sleep if you're overlooking the courtyard. Had anwful saturday night there in october. Don't believe the website. The noise doesn't stop at 11. It carried on well into the early hours. Like jancv, don't like to write a bad review but it was really disappointing considering it was such a perfect setting. Also, really... More

Reviewing the accommodation rather than the Restaurant.....You cannot find a better area than St. James to stay in London however I have to say be very careful of staying here over weekends or anytime that there is a function. The noise in the courtyard and function rooms on the first floor makes sleeping impossible and the Club does not seem... More

I have been a member of this Club since the mid 2000s and formerly belonged to another London Club and during the course of business had reason to visit several others. The In and Out (as the club is informally known) is welcoming to women and non-military members and has, by virtue of compensation from real estate development work in... More

We have immediately booked to stay again Loved it! Very central part of Mayfair within easy reach of all regions of the West End. Very good breakfast and extremely pleasant staff. An extremely relaxing place to stay. Definitely recommend.

This is review for the Naval Military Club (In and Out) Pros - they have updated the bathroom facilities with modern shower, toilet and sink. Beds are small but comfortable. Plenty of task lighting. One big positive -- location -- about 400 yds from Piccadilly station. I understand the purpose of clubs like this -- that is how i made... More

Unless you have specific ties with the naval or armed forces, I think you would struggle to see the benefit of visiting this club. I felt honoured to be invited in and admittedly the whole venue was lighter and brighter than I expected - but the demographic here is grey and ageing, and the staff and offering are matched accordingly.... I have been staying at "The In and Out" for many years, each time I visit London. A few steps from Piccadilly Circus, it is the perfect location for theatre, dining, shopping and business in town. Staff are all very friendly and efficient and welcome you like a long lost family member. Dinner in The Coffee Room offers excellent food... More

A nice place to stay for a short stay in London in a wonderful location close to everything. The splendid building itself is a must see and the rooms are fully convenient and equipped, even if the single ones are small and sometimes noisy in the morning when the cleaning staff arrives. A warm welcome and help from the staff... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
