An institution for the best in British food

Everybody was telling me that it will be crowded with all the westmister establishment and political MP's. It was quiet, with a nice modern and classical cosy british deco and the director (a french establish from is childhood in London) was warm and friendly. Well it's a little quite in Westminster's newest place to eat and worried us a little when we walked in. It screams of Houses of Parliament and found the decor a little cheap but also very fun. Cocktail to start was nice but also for the price not anywhere near the best in London. The food, well we eat at... More

I had many Shepard's Pie's in my life but the one at Shepard's was by far the most delicious I ever had! Great ambiance, very polite service and a overall great experience! All my friends were absolutely satisfied with their dishes. Definitely worth going!

Came here during the soft launch, FOH were charming and very attentive, the food by chef Paul Croasdale, is I the modern british style with Nordic and Cumbrian influences. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right, portion sizes are good and the wine list to the point and to fit everyone's price point. Since this is very close to... More

Had a wonderful lunch here yesterday. Three of us chose different options from a fixed price three course lunch menu and we weren't disappointed. Each was beautifully presented and delicious. The first time I had seen mini green cured peaches served with cheese. Great combination. White wine was served well chilled and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back on... More

A modern take on British dining in the heart of Westminster. A luxurious yet welcoming restaurant and bar a stones throw away from the W square. The ambience is very relaxed and the seats so comfortable we managed to while away 3 hours or more over a 'ladies' lunch. The food was superb, starting with oysters, sharing an unusual but... More

I was really impressed with the food and service at Shepherds on Wednesday when I visited with some friends. We had a drink in the bar first and the staff were happy for us to take our time before moving through to our table. The wine and the food were very enjoyable and I would recommend to anyone for a... Visited Shepherd's for lunch with a party of five. I had not been to the restaurant in its previous guises but found the atmosphere and decor to be just right for this kind of place. Intimate but with plenty of room allowing for relaxed conversation. The service was good aside from a small error with incorrect wine initially being brought... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
