Trying a bit too hard. Maybe ?

Quite a few of us shared a dinner pre Boat Race. Quality of ingredients really good . But, why try to put a culinary twist on everything? For instance a tea tasting creme brûlée ! And that was not the only one. You get the feeling the chef is trying to prove something about his skills but he would... read more

That's all there is to say about that. It definitely wasn't a barista that made mine. I haven't tried the food yet.

While not bathed in sun and it still being April, we were well wrapped up for four lunch on the terrace overlooking the Thames and the preparations for the start of a The Boat Race due the next day. The offering was different - we chose the 'twist' on Ploughmans which had a meat and vegi option. One of each... More

I was invited here by a friend to have some drinks in a strangely mild april day . We sat on the outside tables of the Rowing club and we enjoyed in full the peaceful atmosphere that this place is offering with amazing views on the Thames and away from typical London crowd , I guess in the summer nights... Wide selection of food, friendly staff and near the river and Putney bridge. They have a separate pub area, separate dining room overlooking the river, the Wolsey room upstairs is lovely to hire out. Underneath you have "The Rowing Club" a separate bar underneath that feels like stepping into Happy Days. I like this pub a lot :)

I was here meeting my Brother with my young family and I was really looking forward to it. I used to live very nearby and The Dukes Head was an old favourite. However the food, despite the expense, took an hour to arrive. When it did, it wasn't as ordered, the fish arrived undercooked and the food that was cooked... More

I have to agree with the previous reviews here. We were seeing a band (friends of ours from the US and UK) and meeting up with them and other local friends for a spot of dinner beforehand. We really weren't sure who or how many and it was a busy Friday night, but the staff could not have been more... More

A lovely setting overlooking the Thames with helpful, friendly staff. A real fire adding to the atmosphere. There is not a vast choice on the menu, but this is because the dishes are fresh and made to order. I choose guinea fowl with pearl barley. It was cooked with comfit tomato and was quite excellent. Much better than any dishes... More

Had a lovely midweek dinner at the Duke's Head. The menu is a little on the small side and a little pricey, however the food was excellent. The setting with views of the river and a lovely open fire on chilly nights was lovely. The dining area is in a separate room to the rest of the pub which adds... More
