We used to come here quite a lot about five years ago, so thought we would pop in and take another look. The first thing we noticed that it seems to have gone upmarket somewhat. Both of us had fish and chips with pea 'puree'. This was okay, but the batter was very salty and the stone cold puree was... More

Had lunch there today. Mackerel pate with horseradish ice-cream didn't sound brilliant, but it turned out to be a stunning combo. Best dish of the day. Haddock and chips that followed was tasty and a decent size, and the wife's goats cheese brûlée and fisherman's pie weren't bad either. Staff could not have been friendlier, and of course there's nice... More

I hired the Duke's Head Wolsey Room for my recent 40th birthday. Having viewed a number of venues across London, I settled on staying local; the accessibility and views of the river won out over having to trek to the West End, Clapham or The City (well, I am 40). I'm delighted that I did From offering advice on food,... More

As soon as we entered, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We booked earlier in the week and requested a window table, which was waiting for us when we got there. As it was a beautiful summer day, we got a nice breeze off the river. There was slight delay on food, but in the meantime, they gave us... More

I emailed this establishment with some feedback (see below), after a Saturday evening dinner, here is the reply: "Thank you for your feedback. I have passed this onto our General Manager Damon Jeffery and he will investigate and get back to you in the next few days." That was 3 weeks ago..typifies the low cost approach to service and quality... More

Had a nice lunch here last weekend overlooking the Thames. Both chose the open Goats Cheese sandwich which came with chips and salad.Couple of pints of excellent Youngs bitter, soft drink for the lady. Most enjoyable, good service and not overly priced in my opinion.

Its not fair of me to compaire prices in London with those in Manchester, but I will say it was around 300% more than I would pay here for the same meal. Not great food not a great choice but on par with other places in the location.

I had some squid. The worst I have ever eaten. I offered them to others who did not want to eat them either. Rubber and tasted burnt chewy and awful. How can these people serve such terrible food and get away with it. The usual rich people in Putney who have nowhere to go and are forced to be ripped... More

This pub has great potential! It is located in Putney, with a great view of the Thames. I was there late afternoon on a Monday, so it was very quiet, which actually was very enjoyable. This is also a difficult time of day to judge a restaurant. I had the shrimp, bacon, and avocado salad, with a pint of bitters,... More
