Bengal Cuisine is run by Mr. Kazi and Mrs Kazi. They are both from Bengal. The colorful varied history of the Bengal region is reflected in its diverse khana, Fish is the national dish so it is perhaps no surprise that it is the Fish Tikka curry dish that won Mrs Kazi her the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Curry Chef of the year Award.

Good value for money, plenty of food and drinks

Very good option for a table dinner in Brick Lane. Stepped in here accidentally, persuaded by the waiter outside (just like all indian places in Brick Lane), offering a four course menu plus 2 pints for 12 pounds. Very good value, tasty curry and plenty of food. The only downside, they were slow on... read more

I went to this restaurant on Brick Lane as part of a conference I attended. The organisers chose it and said they highly recommend it. The staff here were very friendly. They were never shy of helping us, whether it be to help us choose our dishes and make recommendations or to refill our drinks. The food was delicious. Very... More

Picked this restaurant during a business trip to London when I paid an obligatory visit to Brick Lane. Light and airy interior was appealing from the outside. The waiter was completely indifferent and unsmiling with clearly no idea of what customer service should be. My colleague was brought the wrong dish and eventually agreed to take it as "you'll have... More

First time down Brick lane and what a surprise, reminiscent of walking along the front on one of the costa's or even Mathew Street Liverpool. Every restaurant you go by there is someone trying to get you in, unlike the above two much friendlier and genuine. After spending what seemed an age to get past two restaurants bartering and laughing... More

Last night strolling down to Brick lane and found myself similar to Turkish carpet market, Macu eatery street or even part of the china town in London. People would internally block your way forward and try to pull you in their restaurant. Few were very annoying, look like drug dealer or even with bad breathe so I simply replied "I... More

Go here all the time with flatmates. Amazing value, treated very well and the staff are always up for a laugh. One of the few places on Brick Lane where you are charged exactly what the tout said you would be. Food is good but nothing out of the ordinary in Brick Lane - all in all one of our... More

Offered a deal of poppadums, starter, main course, naan and 2 drinks each for £9.99 per person by tout outside restaurant. It was quite busy inside, service was quick. Food good. We were happy to pay more than the £9.99 per head.

Food is just great. Everything about it is original and genuine. Service treat You nearly as a king. Plenty of choices from menu. You should get what They offer as a prelude. I don't know what it is, but it's full of flavours.

I am writing this review, because I got no sleep last night. The food was the worst presented dishes I have ever seen. The modern exterior is a deception. The interior is straight out of an old peoples home. With stains and all. The starters we ordered were just slapped on to the plate with no TLC. The naan bread... More

Me and my hubby went on a saturday around 18:15.It was dead quiet and were tricked inside by some promoters standing outside for £12pp, 2 round of drinks, starter, main, rice, naan each.Starter was 2 bites and it was gone,Saag aloo (potato and spinach) was nice but worst was the Lamb Shaslick from the Tandoori oven. 6 Mini pieces of lamb and LOTS of... Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
