Bengal Cuisine is run by Mr. Kazi and Mrs Kazi. They are both from Bengal. The colorful varied history of the Bengal region is reflected in its diverse khana, Fish is the national dish so it is perhaps no surprise that it is the Fish Tikka curry dish that won Mrs Kazi her the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Curry Chef of the year Award.

I have not been to Brick Lane since the late 90s. As I was in the area, I thought that I should try lunch at one of the restaurant. Bengal Cuisine was the first Bangladeshi Restaurant I came across that was open and it served alcohol. I ordered chicken dupiaza, aloo globi and a paratha with a pint of kingfisher.... More

Brick Lane is full of Bengali / Bangladeshi restaurants. It's one of the most famous 'curry strips' in the world. So taking your pick from maybe 100+ restaurants is a bit hit and miss. We struck lucky with this place near the southern end of Brick Lane. Really polite, friendly staff, fast service, very reasonable prices (a generous discount was... More

one of the best restaurant in Bricklane, delicious food & fantastic service. We both had warm duck salad to start - beautifully cooked and presented, with poached partridge to follow. Now I could wax quite lyrical about these dishes but I shall spare you that - save to say they were stunning.

Cozy indian/bengali restaurant at Brick Lane. Excellent service and amazing food. The waiter asked me what "level of spiceness" I could handle and so I chose the Mughlai Kashi. It´s made of pieces of lamb meat marinated and cooked in spices and a cream made of scrambled eggs and nuts. I can tell that it was the best meal I... More

My friend and I ate here last night and had a very different experience from some reviewers. The staff were friendly, the tables were nicely laid and we were made to feel welcome. There was plenty of choice and we were served promptly. The lamb dish I ordered was delicious as was the spinach and paneer dish. Admittedly it doesn't... More

Ate here recently and quite frankly I could not wait to leave...the food was cold and tasteless, the sauce was the consistency of dish water and tasted as such ...by far the worse curry I have eaten and the customer care I received was non existent..passing trade must be the order of the day because you certainly would not go... I have frequented this establishment for over 20 years and have always enjoyed the food. This seems to have changed overnight with dour food,no draft beer (just cans of carlsberg priced at a woefully overpriced 4.95).The "house red" wine was obviously purchased from a shop selling three bottled for ten pounds. It was being sold for 12.95 and was awful. The poppadums... Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
