My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. Proper pub food, just what we wanted. I had pie and mash, he had steak and chips. The food is expensive but well worth the money! We sat in the garden, which was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will defiantly be returning!

A friend and I stopped here last weekend for a 'gastropub' lunch. I ordered the burger and he ordered the duck confit. The food was okay, but nothing special, certainly not for the price. At first, the staff stayed behind the counter, engaged in their own private conversation and seemingly disinterested in the customers. After we had finished eating, a... More

Not the cheapest and some of the main courses a bit on the small side. Service could be improved, as we were never asked if we required more drinks and had to visit the bar during our meal.

We visited on this trip it had been redecorated since last and had great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was good generous portions , had fish and chips very good and reasonable value for money would recommend for good pub grub and atmosphere.

The portions are smaller than last time we visited and the prices have gone up a lot. Staff always good and food ok but overall we were disappointed. Main course arrive before the starter plates had been removed so all felt a bit rushed

The pretty pub on the village green bathed in the late afternoon sunlight lured us in for an early supper, how disappointed we were. The menu selection seemed reasonable and what would be expected of a local village pub, we opted simply for two burgers £10 each with hand cut chips, accompanied by two glasses of Rioja £6 each. The... More

A friend and I stopped here for an early lunch halfway round a circular walk from Chorelywood. I must admit I am not really a pub lunch person, preferring to eat at a cafe or tea shop. However, my experience here has made me rethink my preferences! We received an extremely warm and friendly welcome from the ladies at the... More

Sat here in the warmth of the pub, fire burning and papers being read. Popped in for lunch and once again the food was fantastic. If you come here you have to try the smoked haddock and salmon fish cakes. They are not the usual bland and reheated "flatties" you typically come across. Not at all... Plump and very generous...
