If I had one 6th star to award each year, 2014's star would go to Angelus... specifically for the goats cheese pithivier. The entire meal was a series of a delightful taste following a wonderful taste following... you get the idea. I have never had nettle soup before, so I cannot make a comparative comment. The colour is incredible, and... More

Just off the Bayswater Rd near Lancaster Gate this little restaurant is a gem. The staff are really friendly and the manager / sommelier was incredibly helpful in choosing excellent wines to pair with our meal. The fish and meat dishes were phenomenal. Nice cosy atmosphere and a pleasant bar / lounge for pre dinner drinks.

I had a very good luncheon at this pleasant restaurant near Lancaster Gate. At lunchtime they offer two courses for £22 and three for £27 including coffee and mignardises, which is excellent value. My confit de canard was really good. Service is what you would expect from a good French restaurant. I shall certainly go again. If the wine were... More

The menu looks lovely - great combinations; different and exciting. However the execution didn't live up to the expectation. Food seemed to have been reheated and in some cases (eg deep fried oyster) overcooked/too much coating; lamb was chewy and lacked flavour; cheeseboard was a bit mean. Wine prices are high. Disappointed really - especially with its reputation and rating.... More

We ate in this restaurant twice on a recent visit to London. Had the set menu 2 courses £22 and three courses £27. This was excellent value for money with excellent food and very good service. We then went back for dinner on our last evening and were a little disappointed. I think our main course of chicken was just... More

We lunched here on a Saturday - our first visit for some years. Quite close to Paddington Station, an area which is a bit of a gastronomic desert. I had the three courses for £27; my friend a la carte which turned out to be twice as much. So the former definitely the better value for money. Portions are small:... More

We had a set 3 course menu, each course was delicious & good sized portions. The sommelier was very helpful & supported the choice made. A great choice for this lunch.

We had lunch here. Portions were modest and prices very high compared with neighbouring restaurants. Food was OK but nothing more. Like an earlier reviewer our bill came with an extra item which was immediately deducted when we pointed it out, but given that earlier comment to similar effect I wonder if this really was an accident. A couple of... More

I have walked by this restaurant multiple times during my two visits to London and on my last night (and my birthday) decided to treat myself, and what a treat it was. I have told multiple friends that his was the most incredible dining experience I have had solo. I started in their sitting area with a martini and reading... More

Having now eaten at Angelus, I am surprised by the glowing reviews. We went on a Saturday night, there was little to no atmosphere - just several couples sitting around the edge of the room not talking to each other. The food was disappointing - the scallops in my starter were delicious and well cooked but the accompanying "seafood linguine"... More
