My wife and I enjoyed lunch from the set menu taken with a half bottle of their recommended white wine. Although only four tables were occupied we still felt there was a good atmosphere. The food was all well cooked with interesting combinations and was well presented. We both had the fish option and found it had been cooked spot... More

I came across Angelus when wandering between my hotel and Hyde Park. It is very close to the Park. It is quite small and fairly formal, although a summer dress was certainly appropriate. As I dined early, the primary Staff was the sommelier. He was quite French, which fit the restaurant, and was excellent - always there when needed but... More

Angelus provides an outstanding dining experience. Friendly staff, well balanced menu, excellent service. Nothing is rushed, dishes are well prepared and presented, the wine list is extensive, however has quality options available at every pricing point which is unusual for a restaurant of this calibre. Being owner/operated you do get a more personal touch than in other fine dining establishments... More

The food here is exceptional but a few points to note. Firstly the prices are astronomical - proper old fashioned posh French, screamingly expensive with a wine list to match. Secondly it's also quite formal. The staff are very friendly but it's that old fashioned kind of almost too fussy. The room is lovely - quite small and very dark... More

We stopped at the middle of the week in the early evening and were was plenty of seats available. The staff was friendly and very helpful. With delicious starters (scallops), an excellent main course (lamb) and perfect desert selection. The read italian wine was expensive but exceptional. We will return for dinner any time we are in London.

Angelus does a good job of providing modestly priced but fairly high-end food, about 5 minutes walk from Paddington. The restaurant has the feel of a Parisian railway station brasserie - crisp white linen, small tables, fairly close seating - but the 20 foot ceiling means it avoids feeling cramped. Although not especially original, the food was extremely well executed... More

Having eaten many times in Paris...and France in general, Angelus certainly brings the best of modern French cuisine to London. The ambience within the restaurant is Parisien, with the staff being very attentive and Thierry Tomasin the perfect host. My partner & I had a very enjoyable evening, on a romantic corner table...with beautiful food & excellent wine. Thierry, you... More

Many say French food is not what it used to be, and the rest of the globe has caught up. Having eaten many times in Paris I would agree with that to some extent; they've been caught dining on their reputation in recent years. But this restaurant is a shining example of the highest standards being maintained to produce wonderful... More

As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel you might as well be in an up-market bistro in France! As a matter of fact - the food was better than what I recently had in Paris and much less expensive than its Parisien counterparts as well! We had a business lunch - I had the set menu which was... I have eaten at Angelus half a dozen times or so over the last couple of years. The food and service is outstanding - great tastes, wonderful presentation backed up with a distinctive service which is especially fantastic when it has the benefit of the passion of the owner Thierry Tomasin. We eat their on a Friday evening in July... More
