We are early eaters, so the restaurant was empty when we came quarter past five. Still, we were told they were fully booked, but they had a table if we thought we could finish within two hours. We found these terms acceptable. We were a party of four, and two of us had scallops as starters (£17) and goose breast... More

My partner and I sneaked an impromptu visit to Angelus on our way through London last weekend. We were not disappointed. The food was impeccable as always. Make sure you try the signature duck liver crime brûlée starter. Heavenly! Great service from all the staff, who take such pride in their work. It all makes for a very pleasurable dining... More

I have been dining at Angelus on a monthly basis since May, when i discovered it by chance after purchasing a property nearby. th restaurant is open all day, serving brunch, lunch and dinner - the last two on a seasonal menu basis. There is great choice of wine. For some reason the place seems busier at dinner time, when... More

About 2 weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited out by a good friend for a celebratory lunch at Angelus. As soon as you walk through the door, the warm welcome and the intimate atmosphere immediately makes you feel relaxed. Explanations of some of the dishes on the menu were clear and extremely helpful, the advice on the... More

Last night I met my husband at a local pub before going to this very special restaurant for my birthday. Due to all the bags I was carrying I inadvertantly left my rather large handbag on the back of a chair, however, when I realised the wonderful maître d' of Angelus immediately rang the pub and after a while of... We 'discovered' Angelus shortly after it opened in an old pub at Lancaster Gate and loved the Belle Epoque ambience, so fitting for an evening of French food. And we have been returning to this restaurant regularly ever since for special occasions and to share it with friends, many of whom have returned. We've seen the staff come and go... More
