Wow! What a fantastic shop! Sandwich was delicious and reasonably priced, and we were able to conduct the whole transaction in French, which, being good linguists, we enjoyed. However I'm sure the staff spoke English too. A first- class sandwich and a shop we will definitely go back to!

Great breakfast selections, very good prices, fast service, and a very friendly and helpful owner make Raison D'etre a cut above similar cafes in the area. It was so good we came here twice even though our lodgings included complementary hot English breakfast.

Easily the best baguette I have had in London. The service is very friendly and the prices are brilliant.

Best Coffee and Sandwich place in London. Great menu and very friendly staff. I recommend the new yorker, raison d'etre and Joseph baguettes. They are absolutely tasty and you won't find anything similar in town!

This place is fantastic. Best croissants in London, and extremely friendly staff, all at reasonable prices. The sandwiches are surprisingly good–the kind of food you didn't expect to be so good. Truly enjoyable.

Raison is by far one of my favorite things about my time in London by far. A friend showed me this place one afternoon before he departed and I have honestly been back every single day. Matt (the owner) is the coolest guy and has treated me and my friends like family every single day. I try a new menu... More

Came in for breakfast well past afternoon craving a sweet treat and realized breakfast ended at 11:30. Not to worry, the owner (Matthieu) was very helpful in defining the lunch menu artfully going through each ingredient for us. Before that, without asking he inquired if we were vegetarian. With those two things, I don't think I've ever experienced that type... More

If you are looking for a quick but interesting sandwich look no farther than this French place in the heart of South Kensington. The owner was super helpful and friendly as we waded through an extensive list of filled baquette sandwiches and paninis. The bread is baked locally but ingredients flown in from south France.

We visited Raison d'Etre on a school trip, to allow students to practise using the French they had learnt in class. Matthieu, the owner, was a fantastic host and made our nervous students feel completely at ease as he helped them with their French. The other waiting staff were just as friendly. The salad we ordered was healthy and fresh,... More

Visited in 2013 and was not impressed with the goats cheese salad. However, today we had a perfect summer lunch. Gorgeous combination of crayfish and salads. delicious! Thanks!
