Fantastic cafe

Great sandwiches, pastries and drinks! Speak to the owner, Matt, too (he's the one with the great moustache).

Really great little cafe serving interesting and delicious filled baguettes and amazing salads. Seriously good coffee too and very obliging and friendly staff. An excellent find using the Trip Advisor app to locate places nearby

Accommodating and patient staff made a delicious salad of my choice instead of the menu options. Quirky hand written mantras on walls summed up the values of the staff. Great customer service too!

They do serve very good and original sandwiches and have a very wide menu. Their fresh juices are also absolutely delicious! I really recommend this lovely place very close to South Kensington station.

Four people; busy Saturday lunchtime; no reservation; no problem. It looked like they were full but a quick shuffling round of the tables and magically space for four was created. It happened again a few minutes later when more people turned up. Not sure how he did it but full marks! Great menu; super fresh and tasty, very French and... More

Visiting London for the day & after a trip to the national history museum we wanted somewhere nearby to eat for a quick lunch. Prior to traveling we looked online & stumbled across Raison D'etre, mainly due to the really good reviews on trip advisor so we thought it would be worth a visit. Easy enough to find from the... Lovely French deli cafe, great menu, great hospitality. .. The owner Matthieu was very welcoming. Sought this place out after reading tripadvisor reviews and very glad we did... beats the local fast food chains... strongly recommend going. What's more there was a French food market in the St on the day we went, very nice lunch break from our day... More

We found this online and thought it looked worth paying a visit - and goodness were we glad we did! Amazing filled baguettes with fresh ingredients at really reasonable price of about £5 to eat in! The coffee was delicious as well! Fast service and just delicious! Only gripe we'd have was that there were a lot of rude customers... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
