Delightful

One of our favourite restaurants, we always go for the special set menu which includes the wine. The food glows with freshness and quality. The wine list is out of this world with some really rare vintages. Will be returning soon

When you dine in a 3 start restaurant your expectations are high, very high, just like when you drive a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. You expect to be blown away and everything less is a disappointment. And unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. Service was impeccable, the ambience is lovely, wine list etc. absolute top. We had the tasting menu... More

Food was very good, and service was impeccable, the wait stuff awesome, the atmosphere definitely on the more formal side. This was an anniversary dinner and the whole experience was very special. The only reservation I had was the bill - still not sure if it was worth the extraordinary amount we spent.

Firstly the service is so attentive and what ever you need is not a problem. Wine list is like a book with many great vintages. Amuses to begin was a little veloute of foie gras very delicate. Lovely venison, fillet sole all finished off with the most divine peanut chocolate

Service is spectacular and the attention to detail is unparalleled. The food as another reviewer put was 'pedestrian'. The brill was well cooked but didn't blow you away as was the veal. The only real star was the soft built egg with wild mushrooms and a creamy sauce. That was heaven.

Always seems a bit wrong to go to a 3 star restaurant and take a set lunch but definitley not here. Some of the dishes were as you might expect fabulous. A blue cheese foam on the amuse bouch, excellent starters including what becomes a not so simple green lentil soup, simply the best deserts ever, petite fours so good and so plentiful... More

Couldn't wait to try here. The best of our luncheons thus far. The tasting menu was faultless. The pinnacle of produce and technical skill. Proper food, not deconstructed rubbish. The premier matched wines were the best matched selection we've had. Cannot recommend highly enough if you're feeling flush.

I would think the dinner ala carte is much better as we came for lunch some time ago, I keep meaning review this restaurant so here we are. The first course was a little tasted of foie gras Royal and was nice but not wow, 2nd course was a little veloute, snails. Delightful venison. To end a lovely Vacherin light... More

I think he must have gone 'off the boil' a bit. We were a bit disappointed. On the good side - The amuse bouche soup was extraordinary and delicious is taste and texture. (the gougere balls previous to that were rather tasteless and therefore pointless) The only first course worth it's stars was 'Soft-baked EGG, chicken liver and lobster' My... More

Fantastic reception from the ladies on the front desk of the restaurant unfortunately faded very fast as we were shown to our table. This table was in an alcove and frankly didn't feel we were even in Alain Ducass. We were staying in the Dorchester and had booked well in advance. Expressed our disappointment to the waitress and asked to... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
