I first came for the pret-a-portea afternoon tea in The Caramel Room at The Berkeley several years ago, during the first summer that this was offered. I am pleased to see that the fare itself is as good as I had remembered. Delicious cakes and sandwiches, biscuits and miniature desserts with lashings of lovely tea and endless refills. Whatever you... More

The sweets are inspired by pieces off recent runway shows. Whole adorable thresh odor bikini shaped biscuits are simply too literal. I did find the other puddings to be far more interesting by using the textures, shapes, and silhouettes of the runway in far more amusing ways. This is my second time have tea here and will the delish savories... More

We were looking forward to the unique afternoon tea experience that the Caramel room offers and we were not disappointed. The savoury food was particularly good and the fashion theme of the sweet treats added to the fun and theatre of the event. It was at the expensive end for afternoon tea and I have had better value for money... More

The lunch food was fab Staff were excellent, chatty but no more than required and disappeared when you didn't want them near... The food was excellent, all of it... The little extras such as chocolate covered coffee beans at the end just give you a little extra

A friend was visiting the UK for the first time, so I took her to tea at the Caramel Room based on reviews I saw here. It didn't disappoint. The sandwiches were very good, the savory treats were excellent (especially the crab cones) and the sweets were beautiful and very tasty. The atmosphere was a little sombre, but it livened... More

Went for afternoon tea with some friends. We were greeted and seated by Michaele who was very attentive, and brilliant generally at service! The food itself was beautifully presented and delicious! However, we had to ask constantly for our tea's to be refreshed, and some of the other staff were not really attentive, and we had to prompt several times... More

This was my second visit to 'Pret a Portea' at The Berkley, and I found the food, service and atmosphere lacking on this occasion. The staff were not overly attentive - I wasn't asked if I wanted another beverage, and no one assisted me with the very heavy bench I was sat when it was time to go, for example.... More

Being a lover of high tea, I was fortunate enough to be given a voucher for two for the pret a portea at the Berkeley hotel. From the most beautiful flowers in the entrance to amazing service by the most elegant and well dressed waiting staff to the imoeccable china, I enjoyed every minute. Nothing was too much hassle and... More

I had booked the Pret-a-Portea afternoon tea in advance and informed the staff that my party had special dietary requirements of vegetarian and dairy free. These were catered to very well. We were all impressed by the detail in the cakes and biscuits. There is a vast selection of teas to choose from and we enjoyed the teas we tried.... More

After extensive research on places for "best afternoon tea in London" I settled on The Berkeley Hotel's Caramel Room for their "Pret-a-Portea." What a novel concept! Reservations were made online for Good Friday about a month in advance & were reconfirmed via email. After running around London all week on a hectic schedule, the girls in our group (me, my... More
