Independently owned & managed pub The Marquis of Westminster reopened in February 2013 following a complete refurbishment. Often described as Pimlico’s village pub, The Marquis is back to doing what we do best, traditional home made British food including wonderful world famous fish and chips, sausages & mash, Sunday roasts and burgers! With a pub, a fantastic restaurant and one of the best function rooms in London, we have created a super-pub, which still has the feel of a British local. Local Pimlican Christopher Hayes bought The Marquis from family friends and re-opened it in June 2006; his parents and grandparents were also pub owners in Pimlico at The Coach and Horses, so Chris is proudly continuing this family tradition in the local area. Matthew Surridge joined in 2008 as General Manager and together they have grown the business so that it now features well on Trip Advisor’s places to eat in London. For those that have not been here before, the people have spoken so come see what we are up to and why many believe us to be London’s best pub. Whether its a pint of ale, traditional British pub food, or an awesome party we have something for everyone!

Nice

Went there several times. Nice place to have a beer, eat something and stay for a while. Good to eat outside if there's sun :-)

35 pounds for two fish and chips plus two pints of cider...the Aspall Cyder was fine,..thin chips of fast food style greasy and overdone...fish tasteless think it was haddock disguised in a large puffy greasy batter...cheap pub interior probably carpentered by an accountant...noisy near two busy London streets...avoid...take aways do better and cheaper

It's one of those places that drew my attention the moment we passed it - it seemed quaint and there were always crowds of people sat outside nursing their drinks. So we decided to give it a go. And I was disappointed. The interior was pretty, of course. It was a typical oldish Brit pub. The selection of drinks was... More

The chicken blt melt, ham hock salad and bangers and mash were all good. Nice pint of Aspalls cider too! Probably the best was the blt and the salad. Sat outside for a pleasant lunch.

We stopped into this place for lunch one day after a fair amount of walking around London. We had a drink and ordered some food (I had a pie and my friend had a burger) and they were both good. This place wasn't too busy around lunch time and the people who work here were very kind.

We stayed at the nearby Georgian House hotel, and this was our go-to place for dinner. Our kids (boys aged 12 and 13) insisted on eating here multiple times. The burgers are great, the fish & chips are solid, and the chicken and waffles are very well done. Good beers on tap as well.

It is hard to find dinner when it is almost 10:00 p.m. in London. Well, that was our experience, anyways. We finally found the Marquis of Westminster and were greeted warmly. They were out of a couple things (including what promised to be some really good Scotch eggs). For our table, we ordered a "Gentleman's Platter" and a couple other... More

Food was amazing here. We visited on our honeymoon from Sydney and the scotch egg was the best i have had in the UK. The service was also awesome in terms of advising of the best ales to try for visitors wanting to try something new

Went in for a Sunday Roast. Lacked flavor and was a bit tough. This was the roast beef I got. However the Pimms Cup was amazing with lots of oranges, cucumbers, and other things to give it extra flavor. Served in a pint.

Nice pub food. The roast dinners on Sunday are tasty. The fish and chips are good. The sticky toffee is also very good. Friendly service. Probably a touch too expensive but nice nevertheless.

Staying in Pimlico

Neighborhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
