Description: Independently owned & managed pub The Marquis of Westminster reopened in...
Independently owned & managed pub The Marquis of Westminster reopened in February 2013 following a complete refurbishment. Often described as Pimlico’s village pub, The Marquis is back to doing what we do best, traditional home made British food including wonderful world famous fish and chips, sausages & mash, Sunday roasts and burgers! With a pub, a fantastic restaurant and one of the best function rooms in London, we have created a super-pub, which still has the feel of a British local. Local Pimlican Christopher Hayes bought The Marquis from family friends and re-opened it in June 2006; his parents and grandparents were also pub owners in Pimlico at The Coach and Horses, so Chris is proudly continuing this family tradition in the local area. Matthew Surridge joined in 2008 as General Manager and together they have grown the business so that it now features well on Trip Advisor’s places to eat in London. For those that have not been here before, the people have spoken so come see what we are up to and why many believe us to be London’s best pub. Whether its a pint of ale, traditional British pub food, or an awesome party we have something for everyone!

Very close to a lot og small hotels in the area of Victoria station, so very convenient. I had fish & chips and it all was perfectly made. I'll be back..!

We found this restaurant as we walked back to our hotel. We walked up to the second floor which was packed and noisy but we were seated right away. It seemed like locals frequented the pub & restaurant. Casual but cozy is the best way to describe it. We loved the ambiance and the food did not disappoint. We were... More

My friend and I had filled rolls with steak for one the other grilled vegetables. Both very tasty and chips included. Good value with excellent range of wines and beers.

Arrived in London at about 10:30 and needed a bite to eat so stopped off at the pub. The staff were great and found us a table that all six of us could fit on. It was a simple menu as it was pre-lunch but still had plenty of sandwiches to choose from, they all came with chips and were... More

We were a Party of three and went there on a Friday evening to have some dinner. The atmosphere of the pub is really nice, the place was crammed. The music was a bit loud though. Despite that we certainly enjoyed both the food (starters and mains) and the drinks (ale and white wine). We had as main courses fish... More

Yet again we came back as we always do in London. Can't go wrong with the fish and chips and the waitresses upstairs were great. The pheasant was delicious too!

This was the nearest pub on a wet Sunday afternoon. the food was expensive and no great shakes, the atmosphere was a bit like the weather dull. Although this was the nearest pub to our hotel we did not venture in again.

The pub part of this pub/restaurant is utterly devoid of any character. Probably designed by the group accountant. For a more genuine London pub experience go to the Constitution around the corner. They are snooty about card purchases under £10 (no such issues at the Constitution).

Neighborhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
