Loved this little gem

We stumbled across this little tea room while staying in Kensington and it was very cute with good food well priced. Real tea came with a strainer and my husband ordered the breakfast which also came with freshly squeezed orange juice. I had perfect poached eggs on toast and the total was less than... read more

My friend used to frequent this place quite often in the past. The scones were supposed to be the highlight of the shop thus we ordered the tea set. The scones were alright, not very wow in my opinion. However the ambiance of the place is nice. To be fair, I only had the teas and scones. I did not... More

Very nice staff and local crowd. A nice spot to stop near shopping and to warm up on a rainy day. The location is off the main road, less than 1 min walk. The food is great for a small corner bakery , coffee break and sandwich shop. Fast service, very willing to please and unpretentious. Flavorful pea soup, and... More

Walking from High Street Kensington towards Earls Court I stumble across this corner tea room/restaurant/coffee shop, wanting to unwind a little, relax and read my book, I happen to find just the right spot for it. Calm atmosphere, no music playing which is nice for a change, especially after a busy day at work. Waitress very friendly and efficient, service... More

A nice place to have a cup of tea or coffee, nothing else. The carrot cake (which is advertised as 'highly recommended') is nothing extraordinary, just an average carrot cake. A bit disappointing. There are much better places in the area.

The food was excellent and the wait staff very competent and helpful. Interesting variety of foods and presentations, but very high quality and attention to detail.

More than a tea shop. Great breakfast menu from full English £9.50,to porridge - a little runny, crumpets and pretty much anything for less than most hotels. A little cramped but we found the service efficient given the place was full of all sorts from businessmen to obvious tourists from all over. Some outside seating. Yes is cash only and... More

The Muffin Man, 12 Wrights Lane, London, the muffinmankensington@gmail.com As I was exploring London around Kensington area, I was looking for a tea room for a light lunch. On a small street, Wright's Lane, close to High Street Kensington, I saw the sign "The Muffin Man'. Definitely not what I was looking for. However, I was tired and hungry and... More

The food was amazing, the service a bit slow. Lots to choose from from heavy to light. Be warned, CASH ONLY.

It serves a purpose. A bit crowded, but the best coffee in the area. Comfortable enough and convenient to Copthorne Tara and Kensington Close hotels.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
