Skip the chain restaurants and check out this great independent spot. They serve breakfasts and afternoon teas - I've only ever had breakfast here a few times. It's great - good value for money and always busy. The local hotel concierges recommend it with good reason.

Coming back from all day meetings, it was a wonderful relaxing moment to walk in this cosy teashop where I was served a lovely High Tea. They also serve breakfast, English style. Many different types of tea and wonderfully homebaked sweets of all sorts.

Fresh cooked, good service, if you have their full breakfast then coffee/tea is unlimited. Good quality sausage and bacon was tasty. Tight for space and upstairs can be hot and airless.

Ideal for those who have not booked a breakfast at their hotel and good value but can be very busy. Avoid peak time and you should be OK - be patient as it is value for money.

A great little cafe just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Ideal if one is just on a room only basis. Good choice of breakfast menu, served by very efficient waitresses. Orange juice was very appealing. Reasonable prices as well.

Great place to be able to have breakfast or a snack on the pavement rather than in the oppressive indoor Restaurants of the nearby big Hotels . Great cakes etc - just lacks any atmosphere or charm - could be a gem

Hubby and I were staying in a Hotel about 2 minute walk from The Muffin Man Tea Shop. We had breakfast there twice and both times had excellent service and food. The tea is served piping hot and the scones/clotted cream were to die for. The name of this restaurant somehow makes it seem less hip and one-of-a-kind than it... More

Laid back place to sit and watch the world go by...A very good cup of tea and nice light cakes to munch on!

Had a great breakfast one morning, bacon and eggs and then a burnt omelette the second day. Price was good and much cheaper than paying for breakfast at our hotel.
