An old-fashioned tea shop that is always busy. Very reasonable prices, porridge can be made with soy milk on request. The tea is served properly - in a pot with a strainer. Heaven!
I had breakfast here on a typical rainy London day. The waitress was a bit edgy when I asked for a table by the window. The food was great though - the scones absolutely melted in my mouth. Another point to note - the place accepts only cash.
I dropped in and had the breakfast: orange juice, coffee, sausage, bacon, egg, beans, toast and marmalade. Well cooked and served promptly. A pleasant alternative to the standard hotel.
Wrights lane - just 2 minutes off Kensington High Street : and here is a cafe that is just such an antidote to the identikit chain coffee shops. Great value for money . Oh why can't there be more places like the Muffin Man ?
A lovely tea room situated almost opposite the Kensington close hotel offering freshly made breakfasts, tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches at great value! Really enjoyable relaxed atmosphere with very pleasant sfaff.
Read some poor reviews does not sound like same place we were in, always breakfast hear when staying in nearby hotels whilst in London, always good value for money, and always a lot cheaper than Hotel Breakfasts. Never a problem with the service always polite and treated with respect. Going to London December 6 for 5 days and will breakfast... More
We visited the Muffin Man three times during our 2 day stay at a nearby hotel, so I can't agree with negative reviews. The food was freshly cooked, the tea and coffee were well prepared and the service good. The breakfast is maybe little cheaper than the hotel, but the quality and ambiance are much much better. The only disappointment... More
We went to this humid, crowded cafe thinking it would be a friendlier and cheaper alternative to the Copthorne Hotel breakfast. We were wrong. I ordered poached eggs, one with a side of bacon. When it arrived, there was no toast. The waitress told me we had not asked for toast, but promptly brought some. Curiously we had not asked... More
Ya the food was good in the Muffin Man which was near our hotel....the breakfasts were what we usually got but I have to say for what we go it was ridiculously overpriced. also the staff are not very helpful and either have poor English or just rather rude.
Food was really tasty but it lacked good presentation. Had breakfast there, which was titled "a full breakfast", but consisted of a blob of scrambled egg that was watery and a single sausage and slice of toast. It was tasty but would have expected more for the price of it (that was £9).
