We had dinner at the Sherlock Holmes restaurant on our last night in London. This restaurant has it all, great atmosphere, great collection of Sherlock Holmes memorabilia and fine English Fare. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. This place is clearly in high demand as there is always a queue of people waiting to get a table. I would... More

I guess that most visitors are drawn to it by the name, and it is a typical older London pub. The food is OK as are the drinks. Service was fine and as with a lot of London pubs the staff are mostly not English. It makes a good place to stop for lunch. Despite what another recent reviewer said... More

As Sherlock Holmes fans, when our Hop On Hop Off tour bus happened to stop just past this restaurant and pub, my husband and I thought we'd give it a try. Being a little chilled from riding atop the double-decker, I was hoping for a hot bowl of soup, and the soup of the day was broccoli, so I gave... More

The food was uneven - the Toad in a Hole was tasty, however the chicken had a not-quite- right smell. Service was slow and not particulary friendly. Our food was finally delivered almost as an afterthought. Worst of all - the restroom (ONLY ONE - and shared by men and women) had a long line. Once inside - it was... More

Great atmosphere, good bar staff. Had food here a few times and never disappointed. Good location too, near Trafalgar Square. Always call in on London trips and like it very much. Bit small downstairs and often crowded but worth visiting if you can

A very nice small pub in Westminster. Close to many places like attractions and theatres in the area, the food and drinks were nice and the staff very polite. Would recommend if you are in the area.

We were up in town to see the Tour of Britain and spotted this pub - just off Trafalgar Square. Mr loved the Sherlock Holmes ale, the atmosphere was great and the (very traditional) menu looked good with most dishes named after SH characters or SH actors - they just need a Benedict Cumberbatch burger and they will be sorted!!... We got there with another couple and found very gentle people serving us in an incredible atmosphere. The menu looks British but that was what we were looking for. If you are looking for British cuisine in an incredible Sherlock Holmes atmosphere, just don't miss it.

This week I had a few pints of Speckled Hen at The Sherlock Holmes. The beer was fine and the staff helped me by carrying the glass to the pavement tables. I would certainly use the pub again.

We stopped in for a quick bite and pint after visiting the National Gallery. It was busy but we had good food, reasonably price, and quick service. The staff was friendly and fun. It had a neighborhood feel despite the busy location. We had a very pleasant lunch.
