Good food and fun place to visit.

I love the Sherlock Holmes books. They're probably my favorite piece of literature. So after visiting Baker Street earlier in the day we made our way to this pub for dinner. Yes, it's a bit of a gimmick as they're capitalizing on the "Sherlock Holmes" name. But I don't care. I enjoyed eating here... read more

If you wanted to pick a "typical" English pub with character - then please put the Sherlock Holmes on your London itinery. Great atmosphere, decore and great locaton near the Trafalgar Square, Staff were very friendly and the pub meals were reasonably priced yet of high quality. A must if you are staying in the Trafalgar Square area

Our party comprised 2 men (25 and 46) and 2 ladies (36 and 28) who were looking for a good Sunday roast and some good beer in a friendly atmosphere on a Sunday. We booked in advance via the on-line booking system - we phoned to check we actually did have a table - and low and behold, no table... More

Went there with a friend - great location to just have a drink or two. Very friendly staff. You can easily get into contact with other guests.

Stopped here for our first meal in London, which we had in the restaurant above the pub. Part of the attraction was the Sherlock Holmes theme, which attracted all three "children" for different reasons. The service was efficient, the food was good and the prices very reasonable - especially considering the fact that we're only a short way from Trafalgar... More

Good watering hole, at very reasonable prices. Being so close to Trafalgar Square, it was inexpensive, offering a wide range of pub food.

Good food, great prices and a replica of Holmes' study. Artifacts everywhere from the books, various TV shows and films. Waitstaff are competent and friendly. Food is traditional English, well prepared, fair selection. Sticky toffee pudding is to die for.

I love this pub two levels of lounging and alcohol good knowledgeable and friendly barstaff. Really clean nice toilets. It's easy to get too just off Northumberland Avenue and in the evening you can sit on the pavements and watch the traffic going by.

Visited on a warm evening so the outside area was extremely busy, we headed straight upstairs to the restaurant, which also includes a small showroom in honour of Sherlock Holmes. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the menu is slightly limited but the food when it arrived was very reasonable, also opted for a pint of the pubs namesake... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
