This restaurant is gorgeous, such lovely food. Went here one Saturday afternoon and we were the only two people in the restaurant. The owner was very good and attentive and took her time to explain the dishes. I once went to an Ethiopian restaurant in Washington DC, I enjoyed my experience there also. It's just something a little different to... More

The food here is excellent and very reasonable. The owner is very friendly and seems to cook everything herself. I walked past this place many times without noticing it. I know people who live 5 minutes away and have never been there. It's not the nicest street in North London and it's near a prison, but don't let that put... More

Nice place not very near to the city but the easiest to reach from Westminster. Good food the dishes marked hot are not really hot, so do not be shy to try them. The only slight problem is that the lady is alone (and maybe she is also working in the kitchen) so sometimes you have to wait for a... More

So pleased we tried this great neighbourhood restaurant. The delightful chef/owner recommended sampler-style dishes so we could try a selection of vegetables with lamb and injera (flat bread). Don't be shy, especially if you're brand new to Ethiopian food, like us. Get stuck in (literally, eating with your fingers is great fun) - kind of like treasure on a magic... More

It is indeed a one-woman show, run by the lovely Getenesh. She's the kindest and funniest chef/waiter/manager I have met in a long time! Well worth a visit if you like Ethiopian food. Not that I know much about it, but I went there with an Ethiopian friend and he claims the food was spot on. Great value as well!

This a lovely little place tucked into the bylanes of Caledonian Road, run by a very nice old lady. Having tried Ethiopian food once before in NY, I kind of knew what kind of food to expect. The taste and the variety did not disappoint. The only thing was that I was hoping to have some traditional honey wine. But... More

We had a great experience at the Kokeb. The food looks to be very authentic, is very tasty and is made with a lot of love by the owner of the restaurant, a fantastic woman. We definitely recommend to have a try!

This entire restaurant is run by one woman. She does the cooking, the waiting, the sales, everything. The food is traditional ethiopian, to be eaten with hands (not cutlery) and the bread which forms the plate. It has a fantastic vegetarian selection!

A great little find tucked away in a quiet residential area. It appears to be a one woman show, so service wasn't speedy but it was worth the wait. It was fun, friendly and really delicious food. Go when you've not got any time constraints and enjoy!
