I kinda expected more somehow. Nothing was overly wrong, service was a bit on the slow side, but they did agree to cater for the coeliac in our party. Expensive for sit down fish and chips though. £70 for three meals (one was a salad), and a glass of wine, a beer and a sparkling water. One of our party... More

On reviews and research my partner and I thought we should treat ourselves on our 16th anniversary. We booked an 8pm table on Saturday night. I wanted the scallops only to be told by the unsmiling bored looking waiter there were none. I also overheard him tell the poor disappointed girl on the next door table that their were no... More

Good fish food, takve-away as well. I've been told it's a place you must visit when you're in London, but the Burger Bar in the same street is slightly better :)

This restaurant has a traditional British fish and chip shop vibe with early 20th Century decor complete with fish tanks. The fish and chips are good and cooked in a traditional way with chunky tasty chips and lightly battered fish (unlike the current gastro pub fashion for drowning the fish in batter). Overall a little expensive and the service was... More

Used to use this fish and chip shop quite regularly and recently returned. The chips were good but the batter on the fish was both oily and soggy. The staff seem disinterested in their customers. Not pleasant to buy, not great to eat.

Nice service in the restaurant that looks like a cafe turned into a restaurant, but if you want just the taste of the fish and chips, use the take away from this restaurant.

I was speaking to someone that works in the area and they recommended this place. So this evening I walked there. £9.80 for very poor Cod and Chips, both the cod and chips were border line send back, the batter was very oily and soft. Seriously save your money and try elsewhere.

Oh the disappointment! The soggy battered dissatisfaction and overpriced distress!! My family and myself regularly used to come out of our way to pick up takeaways from The Sea Shell on Lisson Grove. And I’ve had some truly fantastic and memorable meals in the restaurant round the back, which at least looks as beautiful as it ever did (when I... More

Sea shells is one of the best fish n chip restaurants in London. The staff are very friendly. I would recommend more or less everything offered on the menu. I visited with a large family group. We placed various orders and all shared. The portions are huge and you can have endless portions of chips if you can manage. The... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
