Good food served all day

A true brasserie style restaurant serving freshly prepared food for busy people. I liked it here and would always say its a safe place to eat nicely prepared food

My husband and I went to dine there tonight to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary after travelling down from the north east. There were only another two tables in at 6pm despite having a pre-theatre dining menu. There was not a great choice on the menu but we went for the chicken korma and vegetable alternative with poppadoms to start... More

Stumbled on Daawats at Johnstone before going to the Savoy Theatre. What an unexpected find in this part of London, we did not realise that it was part of the Strand Palace until we needed the loos! The atmosphere is not typically Indian, and on reflection is like many hotel restaurants, but the staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive.... More

We live locally and have been to many restaurants in the area. We were just having a walk and decided to try this restaurant on the spur of the moment. We were greeted straightaway and seated with menus promptly. The waiter was very friendly. We ordered our food which was very well presented and very good. Also the food came... More

If you like a good English roast dinner that you do not have to cook yourself, then this is the place to go to eat! The food was excellent and the service was also very good. I would definitely recommend it to everyone especially foreign visitors who would like to sample English cuisine.

Visited "Dawat" in April, 2013. This is an Indian restaurant housed in a very good and centrally located hotel "Strand Palace", a clear advantage indeed. But this restaurant didn't live upto my expectation. I ordered rice and a spicy lamb dish. The food arrived much later than expected although the restaurant was almost empty at that time. The proportion wasn't... More

The menu looked interesting, but the food was rather disappointing. Bit too much style over substance.

Sadly this restuarant at the Strand Palace has been converted into an Indian restuarant with no european food available. What a shame!
