Oh the smell...

I am a huge fan of Patisserie Valerie tea and cakes and have been visiting the Soho branch for as long as I can remember. I have a friend who is visiting from abroad and I was keen to take her for cakes. I chose the Charing Cross branch as it was close to Leicester Square tube station. The... read more

I called in with my Mum for a cream tea following an afternoon matinee at the Prince Edward theatre before catching the tube at Leicester Square station. It was very busy but staff were friendly & we didn't have to wait long to be served. So many wonderful cakes & pastries to choose from & we were not disappointed with... More

Beautiful cakes. Bought them before we went to the theatre and then collected them after the show. Saw the flyer for the afternoon tea. That looks yummy

Looks really appealing and for a takeaway cake, great. Never sit inside. Slow service. Tea was brought with warm milk - whoever has warm milk with tea??!! Had some simple granary toast, so was expecting some decent bread, but was like Tesco sliced. Poor, poor, poor. Then the cappuccino was effectively normal coffee with a bit of milk froth. That's... Stopped here for some coffee and it was alright! Pastries look very appealing so we came in. Service was horrible! We waited for a table for like 15 mins even though a table was ready to leave the whole time but waiters never went to check in and get the money until the people asked the waiter. The same happened... More

Nice location and with a good choice of food however the menu food can lack a little flavour. The inside of the restaurant is occasionally a little grubby but the helpful staff make up for it. The hot chocolate was amazing!!

Disappointed as I love the one in Cabots Circus Bristol and deliberately chose this for my breakfast rather than the many coffee houses in this road. I had to search for a waitress after ten minutes, there was only one man and a family of four and the latter had not been served either. Coffee arrived, lukewarm followed by poached... More

Seated on arrival we opted as a foursome to have the special offer of cream teas for two. This arrived promptly and was excellent. Lack of toilet tissue took three requests to be rectified but in the defence of the staff it was a busy place and they were juggling many requests!! As a popular place the toilet was used... More

Patisserie Valerie was one of two of the earliest and best coffee bars in Soho, the other being Maison Bertaux. Bertaux is unchanged, but Valerie is now run by the people who own Pizza Express, and is a

So, I do not like chain restos in general, but I like Valeries. It is one of my favourite food treats to go and attack my waistline now and then. The cakes and tarts are a really nice attraction and display, with the Millefeuille or the chocolate / raspberry moose a good delicious choice. I'd love to stay, but the... More
