We had Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Dorchester Balcony this afternoon. As we walked in it had all the makings of a great experience, unfortunately it didn't quite live up to expectations. Some of the staff seemed to be trying too hard to make sure we had a good time, and over attentive, I prefer to re-fill my tea cup... More

I visited the Dorchester in November with my sister and sister-in-law, for a double birthday celebration, and we went to the Promenade for afternoon tea. One of my guests was spectacularly late, and I was very worried as the tables are booked for a limited time and it was full to the brim with guests, however the staff were incredible,... More

My Partner and I visited the Hotel Promenade on Saturday 14th February in the evening to celebrate our Anniversary. Upon entering the hotel we were greeted with the most polite and welcoming staff. We were admiring the beautiful flower arrangements and decided to proceed to the Promenade Bar to celebrate with some drinks. We were shown to the Bar as... More

Standard fare for a Mayfair hotel but just a little pricier. Not over enthused by the fact that hotel guests appear to use the two gangways which run through the seating area and take great delight in watching you eat as they walk by. A separate dining area would be my preference, such as those provided by Claridges or Browns,... More

Excellent vintage afternoon tea on the balcony. This was my first experience of afternoon tea in London and I was very impressed. Considering the price tag, you really do get your money's worth in food and drink! The food was exquisite and plentiful in supply. I came with an empty belly and, boy, did I leave full. The sandwiches were... More

My husband and I visited The Dorchester for Afternoon Tea on Tuesday 17th February. It was our second visit (the first being for our honeymoon in 2011). We decided to visit again as a treat after a difficult year - and let's be honest, unless you're very well healed you visit a place like the Dorchester for a special indulgence.... More

I took my dad here for afternoon tea for his birthday, what can I say wow! The staff were so polite and welcoming. The promenade was beautiful. We sat on a lovely table near the piono player who played lovely music whilst we indulged. We could try any tea we wanted and lots of sandwhiches. The scones were delicious nice... More

We had the valentines afternoon tea. Absolutely lovely! Everything was perfect and we felt like we were in Downrton abbey having tea. They filled up everything several times and all the sandwiches and chocolates were perfect. Well worth the 59 pounds.

Having booked an afternoon tea on my wife's 60th birthday, we arrived slightly early but were quickly accommodated and shown to our table. What followed was an amazing, expensive but very worthwhile experience. Sat near to the piano we were thoroughly entertained by a very capable pianist. Champagne, amuse bouche, sandwiches, scones and cake followed with the best Earl Grey... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
