Set in the heart of Mayfair on Park Lane, The Dorchester has been a symbol of luxury and charm for more than half a century. The Promenade is the sumptuous setting for the hotel's legendary afternoon teas, offering sandwiches, scones and pastries alongside a selection of 25 different types of tea. The truly decadent can also opt for champagne while reclining on the high-backed divans, or hide away in one of the intimate alcoves for an informal lunch or a light supper.

Lovely athmosphere, friendly staff at arrival. My friends and I were seated at a table middle of the restaurant. Our waiter was excellent, polite and provided a wonderful service. The tea selection was extensive. I chose Assam 2nd flush. The tea arrived in a teapot and the leafs were left in the pot, no way for me to take them... More

Tea at The Dorchester is a fantastic and enjoyable experience. To say the setting is sumptious would be an understatement. Loved the sandwiches, scones and cakes, plus the doggy bag to take home. Staff so friendly and attentive. How better to celebrate a special occasion. The floral arrangements rival anything at Chelsea, and there cannot be a more luxurious setting... More

Having visited the Promenade a number of occasions I thought it about time to write a review. Firstly, the hotel reception is adorned with the most beautiful flowers and reception staff are simply wonderful. Having been seated our waiter (Juan?), with the most professional and engaging of manners, began our tea. The champagne was served at exactly the right temperature.... More

Visited The Dorchester for cream tea 27 th May for my friends birthday. From start to finish the service was excellent and both my friend and I were made to feel very special. The selection of sandwiches was very good and when finished we were offered a choice of some more. As I don't drink tea I had hot chocolate... More

Well perhaps that's overselling it, but compared to other afternoon tea experiences I've endured across various big London hotels, this was the shining light. Ok so the value for money remains a problem, but just suck it up if you want the 'tea' experience. The environment here is superior albeit be wary of their being a black tie dinner pending... More

I have been to quite a few of London's 5 star hotel's for afternoon tea, so evidently the Dorchester was on my to do list. I arrived over an hour early, so decided to wait in the bar. I went in the main bar first but then decided to go to the Promenade bar instead, I preferred the atmosphere. I... More

Having been to Alain Ducasse previously for lunch I just love the whole atmosphere and decor of the hotel and the piano definitely adds to the experience as well. Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
