Wonderful Birthday Dinner

We went to The Landu for my Birthday on Friday. I was not disappointed, we were on a special deal, but the choice of food and wine was superb. The services was second to none and because my husband had stated it was for my birthday when booking we were given a generous size table to ourselves and... read more

We enjoyed a very relaxed business lunch over the set menu with the recommended accompanying Chablis that all four of us thought was excellent value given the quality of the food and service. Comments made in other reviews about the differing portion sizes are fair in relation to the pork three of us had but I wouldn't let that put... More

Had lunch to celebrate my birthday. We were on an offer so took the edge off the bill. You see a number of these so we thought we would try. One caution to the very hungry, at this restaurant the set menu given for these deals serves smaller portions than the a la carte. However, for a three course lunch... More

Our second visit to this iconic restaurant reaffirmed our love for its precision, it's innovation and its value for money. Be sure to book well ahead as this remains one of the hottest fine dining restaurants around but the experience is always worth while, especially when you're looked after by hospitality stalwart and manager Franco Becci.

Brilliant. Staff attentive and warm to the right degree. Sourdough bread excellent. Beetroot soup chilled and smooth. Salmon just right. Dessert custard tart excellent. Yes drinks are more expensive than in the sticks but wine was very good. Extras of bellini, amuse bouche and petits four with coffee. A lovely dining space, an excellent birthday.

Surroundings were beautiful, lovely hotel, bar and great service however, the food was a BIG let down. The french stick was hard and had to be returned to be told that is how it's served. We had the set menu however when the main turned up the fish was served with no veg, the cheese board serving was disappointing, the... More

So, my Wife booked for the four of us, tasting menu with wine and about £120 a head. We love the Roux's and had an amazing time at Le Gavroche (go there, it is simply the best). This is a delightful place, tables well spaced, noise levels higher than the Gavroche, possibly due to the circular room ends. The prawn... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
